As far as i remember it only came to favour in the last 5 years or so, can remember seeing copies fairly cheap around the time but never bought one as i always thought it was a nice tune but not that nice. Would rather dance to 'In my lonely room' personally. Simon

I distinctly remember hearing this on the radio once when I was on a family holiday in Wales, funny how it became 'rare'

Simon I actually used to play this the odd time in the 80's early 90's, sure I played it at Bretby and few collectors didn't know it then with one or two coming up to see what it was

Sean Hampsey Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 ====== bob banks used to play this regularly at the parr hall in the 80's sounded great then,, Earlier still.... Barnsley's finest, Derek Greenhoff, used to play it in the 70's! £80 min nowadays. Sean

I distinctly remember hearing this on the radio once when I was on a family holiday in Wales, funny how it became 'rare' Pete, the only comparison was Martha Reeves, 'In my lonely room' is for the younger generation, 'No one there' is for the ahem older generation who prefer a sway rather than a stomp! Simon
givemesoul Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 sold one on ebay last month £83 with soundfile a few pops here & there small sticker removed. mintish should fetch £100? seems fair to me everybody wants it, no usa release on 45, so near mint hard to find.
Val (Chunky) Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 I reckon it's worth about the same as Gene Chandler 'Mr Big Shot'
Guest Simon Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 There's no USA release fair enough but there must be a few thousand copies on British Tamla, surely that doesn't make it exactly rare. It's a nice enough record but a ton! Simon

Supercorsa Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Wasn't it released in Italy then (or was it Wales)? https://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem...em=130056036893
Guest Roccia Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Wasn't it released in Italy then (or was it Wales)? https://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem...em=130056036893 Don't know anything about an italian release... Pete, £100 for a mint copy is ok. Its deffo not rare, but its strongly in-demand and is a UK only on 45... Great tune, one of my usual spins... Roccia
