I said this earlier on, but I think this was a show to savour. It'll certainly be played a number of times in our house. Hats off to Bob........ All the best, Zane
PS-Soul Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Yes ,we agree with Zane, excellent show , particularly love the Gregg Jackson track , was tempted to ask Sean Hampsey to play it at Blah Bar in Barnsley on Friday Night but he and Tats Taylor were playing such a fantastic set that no requests were needed. Back to this show, another top 2 hours of soul and another download to add to the collection to play over and over again , thanks to Zane for making these available every week. Shaun, hope you are feeling better and it was good to meet you at Essence even though it was only a short conversation and the room was rocking at the time. Hope to see you again somewhere soon and have a longer chat. Paul & Sue

goodisonturf Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Good luck for the future for you & Bridgette, we all know your reasons and totally agree that family life has to come first. You will always be welcome up in Lancashire and Gillian and i are proud to call you a friend. We have also got freedom now as we have been unable to venture out for the last four years on sunday mornings ! ! Please keep intouch, thanks for everything............ i never got a free drink off you. I also am going to retire as your "Super Agent" unless in a few years i can talk you "Sinatra like" to do a come back
Guest Zane10 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I am strangely short of words this week, but completely understand Shaun's reasons for stopping the show. Having had the opportunity to guest a few times, I am all too aware of the effort involved - and that was only for one spot at a time. Hats on to Shaun for having done this each and every week for 4 years! Shaun's determination to keep the show fresh has meant that only a few records ever got more than a few play; this must have had a terrible financial effect, which doesn't bear thinking about. A great sense of community has arisen from the show with people up and down the country and further afield, many of who have never met each other, regularly logging in to forums on a Sunday morning. Shaun has managed to re-ignite a passion for this music we love in a great many people. There will be a void on a Sunday morning which will be difficult to fill. So, for the last time, here are the download links for the Shaun Robbins Sunday Soul Selection. https://SRSSS17May09fullshow.notlong.com https://SRSSS17May09inparts.notlong.com Best wishes to all, but particularly to Shaun - hopefully you can now put your feet up, at least for a while! Zane P.S. I have a complete library of the shows so if anybody wants to hear any in particular, PM me and I'll try to help
