Hi , thanks for accepting me.

I started my soul travels at the Brazenose St , Twisted Wheel around 1964, then Whitworth St. but had many great time at the Plebs and Cellar 44 in Halifax and a few different soul venues including Burnley and Blackpool Meccas. anyone remember these spots from the 60s?
Be good to hear.

Welcome to the site Mr Boooooogaloooooodude. 🙂

My first all-nighter was at The Golden Disc in Keighley (aged 15 - my parents would have killed me if they'd known!) Also tried Blackpool Mecca, The Birdtrap, Lord Jim's, Plebs (Halifax) & String o' Beads (Bradford) but mostly it was The Wheel (Whitworth St) for me & then either The Blue Note or Top 20 on a Sunday morning - I was there pretty much every weekend without fail from 1966-1970. Fab times & I'd love to turn back the clock & do it all again!

Wow, I’ve got so much to learn!!!
My intro to NS reinvigorated my love of dance so I decided to open a venue in Ramsgate and go for it.
The locals LOVE it! It’s surprising how many Northerners there are in the English Channel coastal towns.
I’m keen to visit other venues as I’m able so will keep an eye on what’s coming up.
My deepest thanks to all of you who have welcomed an Aussie into the fold.

Hi everyone, just signed up to Soul Source. I've been using the events guide for several years now to find soul nights in the North West of England. I've had lots of fantastic nights out at great venues. Long may it continue. ATB - Stuart

I play keys and sing in an 8 Piece 60’s Soul and Motown tribute band called The Soul Shebang covering songs from the likes of Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Barbara Acklin, Erma Franklin, Frank Wilson etc.. check us out.

Nothing major needed, just a quick heads up to all our members, letting them know that you are on here and ideally a brief bit about yourself.

It's a great way to break the ice!

Hi all, My name is Mark, I got into Northern coming out of the mod revival thing back in the day in East London. I love all kinds of Music, at the moment educating myself about Jazz from the late 50s into the 60s and enjoying the current crop of new Jazz acts. Rare soul is my first love though and I’m just getting back into the collecting thing. Thanks all.

Hi all

Been into Northern and TSOP since I was 12 ( 1976). Have started to collect a few 45s, but mainly albums TBH. Have 2 TTs so can keep the discs spinning when I feel like having a session

Hi finally a member of this lovely website.

Thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm a vocalist in a soul band call The Notifications. We play a myriad of soul from Northern, motown and modern.

My main passion is Northern Soul and I often attend many soul nights and all nighters with my dad. Wanted to be able to advertise our live soul events as not to clash in future.

Hopefully see a few of you at a gig soon 🎵

Keep the Faith x

Re-introduction.  I forgot my p/w and, as a result, and despite help to recover it, I lost my title (Soulfool) and 20 years membership of SS.  Lost all my badges too!  My name is David Miller btw, same dafty, different name!

Hi there, and thanks for letting me in.  I'm mostly known online as a Reggae specialist, but I love all genres of music.  I grew up with the sound of Motown all around me.  I'm a moderator over on 45cat, and I'm an editor on Roots Knotty Roots, the online Jamaican music discography database.

My real name is Andy, but most folks online know me as 'Charlie'!

Northern Soul,  My mum brought me up on that, Sadly went the Rockin blues  route but now getting a taste back for Northern Soul once again, After finding a fab location recently on my YouTube channel explores This has got me excited..Ritz Ballroom Brighouse,  Wow what an atmosphere here , Even though the dancing gas stopped, The History in the walls survives.

Pleased to be a member of this Great Group. Thank you. KTF.

Welcome to Soul Source Ricky - enjoy!👋

Hi there. Jilly,  crazy lost in music dancing granny here. I am a friend of Allan, who has kindly introduced me to this wonderful community. Thank you for making me feel so welcome. Dancing gives me such a feeling of utter joy, takes me back to my teenage years at the youth club. I really do just lose myself, it's all so instinctual. Just need to learn the words and the steps and pluck up enough courage to speak to people. Oh and sort out the perspiration. Sooo attractive. Looking forward to next time. With much love and appreciation. Jilly

Thanks and again welcome to Soul Source

Thanks for adding me. I'm a long time fan of Soul music attending many allnighters in my youth. Still attending many soul, rnb and mod related events. Some of you may have come across my range of "mod vitamins" t-shirts based on, ahem, certain stimulants that may or may not have helped people get through a night of dancing! Happy to be on board.
