Pete S Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I doubt if you'd get much more than you would for a Golden World demo. I've had some fantastic stuff on Canadian labels like Reo and Quality and nobody seems to want to touch them for some reason.

Hi Pete I can't understand why either, In most cases I would Imagine the Canadian records are harder to obtain / Rare ? I suppose just how Rare hasn't been documented yet Edited November 29, 2006 by 45cellar
Chalky Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Hi Pete I can't understand why either, In most cases I would Imagine the Canadian records are harder to obtain / Rare ? I suppose just how Rare hasn't been documented yet I would have thought that many Canadian releases were pressed in their thousands, especially the Detroit ones with it not being too far away, and therefore not so rare?

Hi Chalky Really, I didn't know that, I was just going on the amount of Canadian records that I've seen for sale over the years. I've seen a few Tamla_Motown, Reo etc but nothing in any great quantity. I did hear that the Canadian Tamla records were Top quality Vinyl, and thus sought after. Edited November 30, 2006 by 45cellar

After all Motown aiming at the mass white market and can't see Motown just doing the odd few hundred presses of each release. Same for most Detroit companies of any note I would guess, rather large market just over the border

Same for most Detroit companies of any note I would guess, rather large market just over the border Hi Although apparently not too rare, I still look out for the odd Canadian Issue. After all, the chances of me finding a Money DEMO or UK CBS of Bettye Swann for the right price is slim. I think that they hold a certain appeal, and are not too expensive. The Bettye Swann on APEX cost me $11 and I'm happy with that. Surely this is rarer than the Money Stock Copy in my collection, I have to say It's one of my favourite records, never loses It, & I never tire of It. Proof If any were needed that you don't have to pay a lot for a Top Class Sound. The Canadian Cameo of Dee Dee Sharp wasn't dear either. Another Favourite Sound Apparently there's a White DEMO for C-347 as well as The Red & The Yellow One. I don't know about the C-382 DEMO as I haven't seen one yet or whether a UK Issue or DEMO Exists for this title? There has been much debate over this, has anyone EVER seen a UK copy? :search: Last but not least, what a terrific double sider this is. Why not Invest in the Canadian Copy?
