Pecks1957 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I have just bought a copy of this, it has got the machine stamped matrix but the label looks like a wrap around label not a stick on one as is the normal styrene record. Does the vinyl counterfeit have a stamped matrix??
Tomangoes Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 According to discogs, original is stamped, reissue is scratched. Ed

Patto Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 (edited) Always liked the Elsie Strong version of this on Finally label. It has the instrumental on the flip which is great in its own right. Edited February 8, 2018 by Patto 2
Tomangoes Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Lenis Guess has an aol email account. If you contact him, he will communicate with you! Never seen a LE GRAND original copy in the flesh, but would love to own one! Ed
Tomangoes Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I thought the demo copies were fakes on LE GRAND? Stock copy has a gap after LE and before GRAND. Ed
Glyn1957 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 hi bud not that i know of here is the gold one glyn
Tomangoes Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 That looks like the original rare issue. Thanks for posting. Ed
Guest Shufflin Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 John Manships latest video on boots etc is really interesting where he shows the difference in sound quality, originals are proven to have that higher sound rating threads like this are why I'll never buy a really expensive record off evil bay or someone without proven credibility
Tomangoes Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Knowledge is power.......or at least an advantage from getting stung! I'm sure we've all made an error at some point. That's why this site is so good for collectors who get advice before a large purchase! Ed 1
Glyn1957 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 According to john Manship lenis was not booted on wd legrand my mate was talking to him last night about it. I'm still learning been on the scene since 72 yours glyn
Tomangoes Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Interesting....JM is an expert after all. Discogs also has stated no real demos on LG, just SPQR. Here is a bit more info on Lenis..

Tomangoes Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Most probably an included past family surname. Perhaps his Mother's maiden surname, rather than something wrong with him. Could also mean a defector..... Unusual all the same. A very successful career Lenis has had. Ed 2
