Guest Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Also if people want offers for a record they should put them on Ebay really, or at least state a minimum bid. Why? Don't see whats wrong with asking for offers on something you're selling...

Guest Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Well just read the rest of the thread to find out why. So because there appears to be a problem with one person who asked for offers everyone else shouldn't do it...yep that makes sense
Pete S Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 So because there appears to be a problem with one person who asked for offers everyone else shouldn't do it...yep that makes sense Yeah it does.
Guest Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Yeah it does. Of course it does There are a few sellers on eBay who rip people off, so no one should sell on eBay. Some people are alcoholics so no one should buy alcohol.......
Pete S Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Of course it does There are a few sellers on eBay who rip people off, so no one should sell on eBay. Some people are alcoholics so no one should buy alcohol....... And some people go on and on...

That's a lot of people to make a sweeping generalisation about, oh and what about the 15 million who watch Coronation Street, all of those as well? Shame they can't all get BBC 4 and watch the arts programs isn't it Hi Pete Another good day at the office!!!!!!! Switch off the computer and get outside. Edited November 29, 2006 by Dave Thorley

Toodarnsoulful Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 Jeez didnt think selling a 45 would cause so much hassle, sorry for being extremely busy at university most of the day and not replying to those who emailed me. THE RECORD IS NOW SOLD!! To a very nice chap who got in contact through Soul Source.. Dont think there is anything wrong asking for a Offer, does everyone who posts for Offers get that grief?? Nick you made an offer and someone else offered me a price i was happy with, sorry mate. Liam
Guest Tommy Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Well i'm pissed off Liam. We had a deal on this record, and all i needed to know is where to send the money to (and i e-mailed you back asking this). You then sent me this message: Record Sold sorry thanks for the offer Tommy, needed instant cash as i had a financial crisis.. Hope maybe to hear you spin some in US in 07.. Liam You should just stick to collecting mate, as your obviously no good at selling records. Tommy.

Hi Tommy if your still interested i have the Sillky Up for Sale again unfortunetly for me.. let me know if your still interested though $450 wouldnt be enough seen one go for over $1000 on ebay recently i would take $650 which i think is a good price.. Let me know Liam I said ok on the $650. Think about it mate. Tommy.
Nick Hackett Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 (edited) Styrene records that are cued up by backwinding tend to create a hiss for the first few seconds of the intro,i believe an accurate description should be given when selling any record. $650 for a ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssilky! would of been a result tommy!!,i was told about the hiss, you werent tommy,at least you got a reply from the seller,i withdrew the £275 (it had a hiss) from my bank as my offer was accepted (aswell!!) and the seller desperatly needed the cash that day...just a reply to my pm's would of been the decent thing to do.The record has now been sold, thats life, end of the soul source silky saga! Marc Forrest Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Styrene records that are cued up by backwinding tend to create a hiss for the first few seconds of the intro Oh please all you collectors and DJ`s out there...please stop backwinding 45s, be them styrene or not...pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzeeee. Save the plastic for upcoming generations. I am dead serious. Never understood why people have to listen for minutes to the tune they want to cue in before (you know how your record sounds, don`t you ??!!) and then backwind it for ages without knowing how old and used the needle is....its like having unsafe sex if you ask me. Thanks.
