Briles Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) I’d just like to know if it was ever booted? Edited January 12, 2018 by Briles 1

Its a common 45, goes for 200/250 to 300 these days I think, that said it’s in vinyl and styrene, and the styrene ones are hard to get in good condition, one will come up... 1

It came out on Stardust with Tony Middleton / Ray Pollard – Drifting / It's A Sad Thing Stardust Records – URS 007 There was a guy who used to print out a real lookalike label and paste it over Stardust issues, easy way to check is listen to what does yours play on the flip side, if it's Tony Middleton Drifting you have yourself a Stardust copy covered over, but if it plays "All the Things You Are" well it's not the Stardust record but not sure where that leaves you ?
Briles Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Yeah the B side plays drifting, so it's a boot but still a great record to play at home......... Thanks for the info Townman......
Benji Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 A quick Google search would have revealed that UA 50069 is the Jive Five - You're a puzzle 1
Mgm 1251 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) ... puzzling...If they went to the trouble of making a lookalike label, why didn’t they use the correct number?....very strange... Edited January 12, 2018 by MGM 1251
Mgm 1251 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I think those Stardust discs are legit reissues,I think they are pressed up in Canada,Anglo American perhaps?.....
Benji Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Stardust discs were/are not legit. fact. Koppel behind them as far as I know.

They simply took a scan of the Jive Five and doctored artist and titled in. Even the production credits are still the same as the Jive Five 45. Edited January 13, 2018 by Benji
