It's in Rainford, near St Helen's, and yes, I do believe it is. I was walking in the area but not a local. I'm pretty sure someone said it was the old railway line. Does that help? I can find out for sure if you'd like me to?

I assume its the track bed that goes north to south in this link which hopefully will open in satellite view. Thanks

Not a great quality pic as I took this from the back balcony about half an hour ago with my aged iPhone 5. It's not the end of a sunset, but comes from a horticultural greenhouse that's using artificial daylight to force fruit, veg or flowers to grow more quickly.

The light is made particularly dramatic as it's bouncing off the very low cloud we've had these last couple of nights. Sadly, light pollution like this is extremely common in a country that grows so much in large-scale greenhouses. All the same, I thought the view looked rather eerie!

Not as impressive as the light from the greenhouse in the film "Saving Grace", mind you, she wasn't growing fruit and veg

It wasn't meant to be impressive - just a "reflection" of what I see on my tiny back balcony.

The light you see in the pic is probably from a rather small commercial greenhouse set-up. Look from a distance at this whole region of the Netherlands and you'll find the night sky is like this, magnified across the horizon 10,000-fold.

It was meant as a joke Russ, like the film, a British comedy about a woman in a dire situation after the death of her husband who had to find a way of making money quick to save her house, if you haven't seen it you've missed out.

Ah-ha - I'm with you. Have to admit it's a film I've not seen, although I'm familiar with the storyline.

As you can imagine in a land of greenhouses, news stories about illegal plantations being busted are exceptionally common - and especially locally as we're in the heart of the horticultural industry.

In Dutch, the generic term for a place where things are grown is kwekerij (pron: quaker-eye). However, if a space is used for breeding animals, it's called a fokkerij.

I kid you not!

So, if a space used for breeding animals was left untidy would it be a dirty fokkerij?  Fnarr!

Minack Theatre, Porthcurno, Cornwall

It could actually make a reasonable dance floor.

Of course the DJ would have to play George 'N Sonny Sands - Down By The Ocean

This one is for Steve (Winsford Soul) - I know the majority of my images posted on here are taken using a 500mm lens, but I really enjoy going back to basics using manual focus lenses, and the best for that are the Zeiss ones, unlike todays modern 'plastic' lenses from Nikon and Canon, these things are all metal and built like a tank.

A couple of examples of the images they can produce, seen full size on a monitor they have a 3D feel to them

That's well posh Steve. My drum is a right mess - even without the building renovation. Filth, Filth and more Filth!

Discovered the west coast of Wales about 6 years ago and love it. Been fortunate with the weather whenever we have visited. Reminds me of 1980's Cornwall when it was still relatively uncommercialised.

For those that know the area; funniest remark made to me when I first visited was Newport (not South Wales one) was nice but a bit too commercialised.
