I've bought very little for many years and as my taste has changed what I'd like to play now I don't own so I'm left with what I've got after selling plenty over that period, so mine would have to go like this.

James Brown                           Hey America   inst.

Johnny Moore                           You fixed It

The Nite -Liters                         Cherish Every Precious Moment

I don’t have a fancy set up at all. Technics separates - amp, deck, CD player etc, ploughed through some old JVC speakers. All very entry level, old kit - they were my mums who passed away 14 years ago. I miss my mum - it would have been her birthday today.

What is really cool is that my mum had an awesome Technics released cd - jazz and modern soul. I’ll go and find it in a minute - had some awesome soul on it including Ike Noble etc.

Here you go - awesome track list.

Acquired a hard drive from Eddie SITS.

Donated the required amount to charity.

Plug and play, random selection.

29000 tracks give or take.

Promise to switch off after 20.

Gone back in time to a time when I did not know what was coming next, no top 500 then.

AND I truly only know, to any tangible degree, half of the tunes on this drive anyway, even today!

Your top 20 should evolve...

Just spend a few hours track hopping on YouTube and you will never get bored. Just too much quality out there to get stuck in a time warp.

June Jackson -  Your Welcome

Jack Montgomery - Don’t turn your back on me...

George Smith / I’ve had it

Lee Bates - why don’t you write

Marva Josie - don't

The Tears - Good luck my love

The Marvellows / somethings burning

Carl Carlton -  I can feel it

Mighty  marvellows - talking bout you baby

etta James - Can’t shake it

Ruby Andrews - got a bone to pick

Sage - I’m alive

Ike Perkins - when the bottom falls out

Margie Joseph - one more chance

I was given this years ago by a friend who bought some Technics kit but wanted to play only classical on it. Terrific cd, mainly or even exclusively pulled from the Timeless label. Like the Move Records catalogue, that would be worth a serious revisit - just in case a stray record company executive looking for reissue ideas is visiting the site :shades:

"Something's Burning" was sung by The Marvellos (L.A. group who worked with L.A. Jobete Music producers).  The Marvellows were a Chicago group, who sang ""I Do" and "In The Morning", later becoming The Mighty Marvelows, who sang "Talkin' 'Bout Ya Baby (on your list above), and who worked in Chicago, with Johnny Pate.
