lord sinclair Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 (edited) Hey first post, first question. I have a copy of Little Joe and the Latinaires Show me/Knock on wood on Tomi Records (Dallas) T-124. Well both songs are covervesions, as you can see. I really tried to find out something about this record, but there´s now information? Does anyone know something about that? Thanks and greetings from munich! Edited November 22, 2006 by lord sinclair
Jaco Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 (edited) Don't know about your record but the group, if they are the same, are a Tex-Mex outfit who have been around since the late 50's and were originally known as David Coronado and the Latinaires but are now known as Little Joe y La Familia if still around. There are recordings for El Zarape, Good Luck and Buena Suerte probably in Spanish. There is also a recording on White Whale - "Crazy baby" from 1969 Edited November 22, 2006 by Jaco

There is also a recording on White Whale - "Crazy baby" from 1969 Yes, it's the same group, and yes, Little Joe was still going strong last time I checked. In his prime he recorded for loads of labels, including Teardrop, M-G-M, Columbia and, most interestingly, Tomi, where he covered lots of contemporary soul hits, from "Show Me" and "The In Crowd" to "Bring It Up" and "Love Is A Hurtin' Thing". He's not to be confused with Little Joe on Okeh, which is Little Joe Cook, or Little Joe on Brunswick, which is the actor Joe Pesci! TONE Edited November 22, 2006 by TONY ROUNCE
