Hey first post, first question.

I have a copy of Little Joe and the Latinaires Show me/Knock on wood on Tomi Records (Dallas) T-124. Well both songs are covervesions, as you can see.

I really tried to find out something about this record, but there´s now information?

Does anyone know something about that?

Thanks and greetings from munich!

Don't know about your record but the group, if they are the same, are a Tex-Mex outfit who have been around since the late 50's and were originally known as David Coronado and the Latinaires but are now known as Little Joe y La Familia if still around.

There are recordings for El Zarape, Good Luck and Buena Suerte probably in Spanish.

There is also a recording on White Whale - "Crazy baby" from 1969

Yes, it's the same group, and yes, Little Joe was still going strong last time I checked.

In his prime he recorded for loads of labels, including Teardrop, M-G-M, Columbia and, most interestingly, Tomi, where he covered lots of contemporary soul hits, from "Show Me" and "The In Crowd" to "Bring It Up" and "Love Is A Hurtin' Thing".

He's not to be confused with Little Joe on Okeh, which is Little Joe Cook, or Little Joe on Brunswick, which is the actor Joe Pesci!

TONE
