Bo Diddley
Larry Santos You Got Me Where You Want Me Now / Tomorrow Without Love Evolution : 1007 (45s) Simultaneously a Wigan Casino, Cleethorpes Pier & Yate Northern Soul Monster circa 1977. That tri-combination of the guitar, swirling strings colliding with a snarling vocal, was the green light for a semi-final styled pitch invasion! High up on the Cleethorpes Pier DJ podium or peering down from Wigan Casino's balcony, witnessing the euphoric migration from the hall's perimeter of the dancefloor; joining the ever swelling throng of human gyrations, was a vision still crystal clear in my mind today. One of the many memorable events the old-school Northern Soul all-nighter would present you with. Some records emitted such a powerful torrent of instruments on the intro, you had no choice but to hurl yourself into action. "Larry Santos" intro is almost incomparable, with his insistent voice and the addition horns, crafts one compelling slab of Northern Soul. A timeless NS classic that seldom surfaces in today's market. Here's a chance to relive those thrilling times of our youth... with a copy the most-popular of tunes. Condition Report Two flawless PROMO labels, not a blemish. The a-side vinyl plays perfect, but reveals some hairlines when angled in light, visually Ex play Mint minus. Flipside vinyl is more like Ex + £438.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:06 Listen Hit Pack Never Say No To Your Baby / Let's Dance Tamla Motown : TMG 513 DJ (45s) It doesn't matter how the passing years have change my tastes in music, my choice of dress and sporting interests. Still today, I find nothing more alluring than a TMG 500 series Red & White Demo, sitting snug in the now iconic orange Tamla Motown sleeve. A vision ingrained in mine and many others minds from a very young age. Condition Report Two spotless labels, superb untampered, glossy vinyl with just a very few hairlines to spoil perfection. But it plays perfect, looks flawless at first sight, but after a closer look there are a few fine marks revealed under strong light. Visually excellenht, plays Mint minus. A fabulous example of one of British Tamla Motown's most-elusive.<br /> £194.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Jackson Sisters I Believe In Miracles / Day In The Blue Mums: 1939 DJ (45s) Manship's Mints for Christmas Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl Perfect Labels Condition Report Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl - Perfect Labels £168.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Jelly Beans You Don't Mean Me No Good / I'm Hip to You - Eskee Eskee: 10001 (45s) Manship's Mints for Christmas Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl Perfect Labels Condition Report Manship's Mints for Christmas - Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl - Perfect Labels £299.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Dynamics I Need Your Love / Love Me RCA : 9084 DJ (45s) Manship's Mints for Christmas Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl Perfect Labels Condition Report Manship's Mints for Christmas - Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl - Perfect Labels £415.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Arcades There's Got To Be A Loser / The Soul P. Then genius of Bobby Martin explodes on a wave of horns delivered to match that growling Bobby Bennett vocal. As this uncompromising R&B man bursts into action. Don't we just adore these deceptive intros, that keeps the dancefloor in gentle sway, all in accord awaiting blast-off! Bobby does not disappoint as he attacks the lyrics, with anger as he girl once again takes him for a fool, but he can't break away as his addiction for her allows her to "wrap him round her finger". You can feel his frustration filling the room, as Bobby Martin backs him up with honkin' horns and a driving rhythm. Fabulous Northern Soul that would have easily become just as prominent Northern Soul classic as "Get Out" if only there'd ever been enough copies to go round... This 45 has always been difficult to finds.. another top tune suffering exposure threw it's own rarity - just poise for the right DJ to give it the turntable time it so deserves. Noting this tune is only available as the STOCK copy with the promo being same EVOL on both sides, adding to it’s frustrating rarity…but don't forget flipside is a killer R&B dancer in it's own right Surely it's time to hold a prolonged Northern Soul renaissance for this former Harold Melvin - I Did It Again - cover-up.. Condition Report Two flawless labels, tiny bb drill. Both vinyls are just a smidgen off Mint - , as couple only mild blemishes, plays Mint -, visually Ex + £356.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Jimmey Soul Clark ( I'll Be Your Champion ) I'll Be Your Winner / A Girl's World Soulhawk : 003 (45s) Manship's Mints for Christmas Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl Perfect Labels Condition Report Manship's Mints for Christmas - Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl - Perfect Labels £310.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Major Lance You Don't Want Me No More / Wait Till I Get You In My Arms Okeh: 4-7284 (45s) A NORTHERN SOUL ANTHEM with few equals!! Note this is the authentic FIRST Press. You may be thinking; Manship is pointing out the obvious, as we can all see the big 45 RPM on the left hand side. The reason I say original FIRST press because some dubious fraudster has purchased the Columbia 1973 reissue with the small 45rpm text and applied FAKE large 45RPM labels. What will these crooks think of next? But all is not lost, fortunately the diligence of Columbia, their master stampers changed the last letter of the ZSP machine stamped matrix every time they changed the stamper, usually after 20,000 presses. So if this 45 received a new stamper the martix would read ZSP1185411 3A this copy is from the very FIRST run ZSP1185411 1A with the flipside matrix ZSP1185411 2B. Now here's the way to spot a fraudulent copy the 1973 matrix # is ZSP118541-1E with the flipside carrying ZSP118541-2F in the deadwax. We did have a fraudulent copy I bought in as collection, how many of these have been passed off as original we can only guess, but be aware if your not buying from a dealer who cares and thoroughly investigates every detail. You do need to check the matrix, even though the "fake" label has weak "purple" background that can be scratched off.. Here's the real deal correct matrix from the very first run - ZSP1185411 1A Condition Report Both labels carries minimal expect wear for the OKEH label, notoriously susceptible the storage rub. Both A & B vinyl play Mint - . A-side vinyl has a solitary light surface blemish, Ex + grade. Flipside vinyl is nearer Mint minus. A fine clean copy and reassuringly 100% authentic £361.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Troy Dodds Try My Love / The Real Thing El Camino : 701 (45s) Manship's Mints for Christmas Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl Perfect Labels Condition Report Manship's Mints for Christmas - Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl - Perfect Labels £1,112.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Tony Clarke (They Call Me) A Wrong Man / No Sense Of Direction M-S: 206 DJ (45s) A Detroit legend...with his most wanted 45. Condition Report Two Mint labels, vinyl is so near to perfect it hurts, two mild surface sleeve brushes only noticable when angled under direct light. Plays Mint no sign of any DJ action in the playback.. this is he finest copy I've encountered in recent times. £861.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Drifters You Got To Pay Your Dues / Black Silk Atlantic: 2746 DJ (45s) Manship's Mints for Christmas Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl Perfect Labels Condition Report Manship's Mints for Christmas - Mint Unplayed - Perfect Vinyl - Perfect Labels - £131.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Al Perkins You Cost Too Much / For My Baby C. J. Records: 612 (45s) Carl Jones's new labels slowly but surely got of ground, recording local artists, covering Blues, Gospel; And of course Soul when he recorded Betty Everett, injecting a new lease of life into her career after two years without a single.. Al Perkins was one of Carl's first signing and debuted the label in 1960 with "Don't Deceive Me" which received a few releases through the years.. Note today this listing is the FIRST press of his 2nd. release for Carl Jones, jeweled with silver text and silver bars adorning a flawless glossy rich red label label background, first press and utterly pristine. "You Cost Too Much" is a full throttle R&B/Blues shaker showcasing Al's guttural delivery, this 45 will please Northern Soul R&B DJ's and Blues collectors alike; and for those of you who's R&B thrill is an out-of-control wailing sax.. this session gives up a memorable sax break that forms a killer backdrop to Mr. Perkins compelling singing. A record for proper-record collectors who seek out records that capture an era of musician purity, unpolluted by self-indulgent record producers.. this is Chicago R&B straight from the neighborhood; as the flipside proves with it's capacity to transport you to after-hours 1960 jam session, awaiting a Sassy-Mama to take to the stage and whip up a storm with her suggestive lyrics and saucy delivery, sequined skin tight dress that leaves you in no doubt the lady is built for comfort.. Yes, here's a record with the ability to paint a picture of Chicago, 1960 and all the great music that was born there.. Condition Report Flawless and that's why it's listed here, ever tried to find 57 year old Chicago R&B/Blues in flawless condition... so very challenging, most collectors settle for what ever condition they can acquire these treasures in, as long as it plays..Note vinyl is as immaculate as the label presents itself.. you will not locate a finer copy. £66.00 Sorry, this auction has ended. 15/11/2017 18:00 Listen Edited November 15, 2017 by bo diddley Link to comment Social source share

Carlf
Major Lance was a bargain for someone, on today's prices. Dynamics surprised me, being that there is a much rarer issue on ebay for £350. Link to comment Social source share
