Pete S
Bit of a difference between David Bowie & Andy Stewart though. I'll say one thing about Andy Sewart though - on that record "Donald Where's yer Troosers", half way through there's an Elvis Presley impersonation and it's far and away the best I've ever heard, if that was Andy Stewart he could have made a living from doing Elvis's voice. The follow up's thats Kev Roberts wasn't involved in or or the errr....ads that didn't come out... ..? So the ads that Kev created the music for didn't actually get shown, so your prevvious comment was totally misleading. That's probably why it's a little known fact. Here's another little known fact for you then. I redesigned Buckingham Palace, but the Queen didn't like my design (Wasn't keen on flock wallpaper, Duke Of Edinburgh said it reminded him "Of a bloody Indian Restaurant"). So it wasn't used. Consequently I don't credited myself as 'Designer of Buckingham Palace' because I DIDN'T DO IT ! Link to comment Social source share

Dave Rimmer
Interesting theory, Dave. How exactly is it misleading? By the ommission of the fact that they weren't shown. Therefore they couldn't have been 'popular' I've no problem with what Smithy says, that's accurate, but to claim he created the music is just downright rubbish. he didn't create the music at all. Later producing a string of well known Soul artists such as EDWIN STARR, LINDA LEWIS, JUNIOR WALKER, MAI-TAI etc. Spent many years in Radio and currently CEO of VIP Radio(Sky Channel 0196) www.vipradio.net I wrote the book 'Northern Soul Top 500' and promote events all over the UK and USA. You are correct about the episode about KR playing of Andy Stewart's " Donald Where's My Trousers ( pronounced " Troosers " ) . I remember the episode very well ; as a result of the record being recognised as a good time party record , it was picked up on and subsequently played in other areas , then nationally . The popularity - and respective scarcity - of the disc resulted in it being released again ( the first time since it's original release on Top Rank in the 1950s ) , and as a result , it got into the top ten on the strength of respective sales . Another side that Kev played , was Tina Charles' " I Love To Love ( But My Baby Just Loves To Dance ) " remixed by him under the alias of " Chuck The DJ " .....
