Love the Clarence Jackson mate, so funky!

The Coasters got to No 6 in Canada so it pretty much made it there!

Strangely enough I played love Potion No.9 when I last dj’d at Filthy Soul in London about 18 months ago

Shame there's not an instrumental version - or have I just mugged myself off again?

How this never made it I'll never know. If I'd have had this back in the mid 70s it would have been hammered!

Not that I've been very active on the scene since the late seventies, but from what I've heard, this track by Freddie Scott never made it... or did it?  Storming record in my opinion:

Stunned, and not heard before but would have thought, but I must have been massive at Wigan.

Some tunes never got the recognitions they maybe should have..

Here's one from me, how about yours..

Ed

It was big at Wigan back in the day. Possibly a Mecca spin at first but then on the ‘newies’ conveyor belt at the Casino with Prince George, Black Nasty, Kim Tolliver, Lloyd Michaels etc. A good tune then and now, but dwarfed by the sheer weight of later 70’s discoveries so unlikely to be revived.

It was one of those tunes that circulated amongst the back bar at Wigan but I guess the time wan't right for it. I remember having it in a sales box with Lost Soul - I'm Gonna Hurt You and stuff like that.

This record made it it was played everywhere in the mid sixties on radio in clubs, as a result of it being a hit it was copied by most of the British pop groups of the time usually on ep,s Rolling Stones included

Chosen few got a lot of plays about 10 year ago in small nights, and but never quite made into the big rooms

Really surprised this brilliant Timothy Wilson spin wasn't bigger, I know it got a few plays at Station Road but I have never heard it played anywhere in recent years.

That’s a great record I have always assumed it was a classic that everybody knew.

Yeah it was a Mecca spin, but most clubs played it at the time.

Their best uptempo cut imho

As I'm sure everyone knows, the album is stuffed with good stuff - Keep on Climbing's great - like Just Walk in My Shoes too (got spins at Wigan, but never stormed it).
