Probably a more 'Northern' than 'Cross-over' cover of a 'Cross-over' type tune. Make your own judgement.

The kind of tune that could go massive in the hands of Soul Sam...

Yeah great southern soul dancer!

Not sure of the title of the LP without digging it out, Tad. I think it's the face one, the red coloured one, 1974 I think.

Agreed, one of my fave groups! There's a good version of this song with Hot on Big Tree as well.

Thanks Roger, I should dig it out from the box. Always thought the red with his face is better than the black with hands, but anyway he's excellent singer, reminds me of Lou Courtney and even Carl Hall. Love his sensitive voice!

Is this the same group?

On G.E.C. : Dwight Dukes (lead), later of Cashmere; Michael Brown (tenor), Keith Stewart (tenor and baritone), James Dukes (bass).

On Mercury: Dean Williams (lead), formerly of The Soul Majestics; Dwight Dukes, Keith Stewart, James Dukes. Greg Rose, later of The Rose Brothers, replaced Williams as lead as of Mercury 74081.

'Whole lot of love' What a brilliant track . . . never heard this before.

Great job!

And the W.M.O.T. is their 4th, very good 80s soul album.

Filled with slammin' uptempo stompers, steppers and ballads.

No, Mark, it's on their Fantasy album, 1979, Mercury Records. Don't think it's hidden??
