I picked up a copy a few months back but not sure if its a boot. Radio station promo, big pinkish red A on "I am the one", styrene (I think) with stuck on labels, and scratched matrix ZSP-117374 IF (though label says JZSP 117374)

I couldn't find any info on boots of this. I've got a promo boot of Williams and Watson on Okeh and it's really, really obvious... smudgy print and wobbly thin vinyl.

So is this one bonafide or boot?IMG_20170813_185028.thumb.jpg.33d05e680e9fdf0d007c30ce3205a8b3.jpg

Paper quality, print definition and styrene are all correct.

I would think your copy is definitely, an original first issue demo!

I don't think there is a counterfeit of it, unless it's recent!

Looks proper to me...I'm no expert on matrix numbers..the A always is a pinky/light red colour on any okeh records I've seen....the more knowledgeable people on here will tell you...kind regards...Rob

Same as my Copy that I've had for a year now and  which looks like it's been around the block a few times. Identical matrix on mine as well. Not booted to the best of my knowledge.

Do you ever play the supposed A side? "One good reason" is much the better side!

I bought it for the "one good reason"side but like "I'm the one" just as much. Which side I play depends on the mood I'm in.

Cheers

The majority of West Coast Okeh releases had matrix scratched in instead of being stamped. Remember Okeh had an LA office & studios where Williams, Watson, Richard, Triumphs etc recorded, most of their have scratched matrixes.
