A mate asked me to do a mix of the kind of stuff that was big when we first started on our Northern Soul journey – 1975, 1976, 1977 – well it turned out to be an epic journey and 1975 alone has 68 tracks!  So I hope you enjoy the music and the anecdotes.  As I do 1976 and 1977 there will be less talking and more music but I felt I needed to set the scene and explain what things were like back then.  The records are all from my own collection so if I haven’t got it, then it’s not on the list.  And it’s not a ‘biggest sounds of 1975’ kind of thing, it’s a true reflection of the records we listened and danced to.  Running time 3 hours 17 minutes all done on the fly (and there is a small amount of swearing).

A brilliant summary Pete reflecting how it was at the time. I can think of a few others you could add, but if you haven't got them, you haven't got them.

I did cut some from this episode as it was getting so long, things like The Malibus, Tobi Legend,Ikettes, Eula Cooper, Otis Smith, Benny Curtis, Ann Perry and about 10 more

All good tunes too. And you could probably throw in a couple of dozen Northern classics before pondering over the Mecca biggies at the time.
