What was the track that was sent from Spain for either Tat's or Gilly's birthday? (Can't remember who was speaking at the time)

Towards the end I would say Chalky. Maybe 10-15 minutes before the finish. Loved the show but a few tracks were not named and I don't mean the exclusive ones which were 'interrupted'

The track was Bernadette Bascom - I Don't Want to Loose Your Love B/W Seattle Sunshine.

It was rather good wasn't it.

I hope that helps.

Brilliant show this week.  Stuart Raith and his wonderful wife Penni joined Dean and Jez for a 3 hour musical history.  A social commentary of what was happening in the USofA between 1963 and 1976 and the Soul Music of those years.

Don't forget you can listen live every week....

Would like to know more about Dean Anderson...where his journey started etc...I've heard him play at pure soul in Nuneaton and know he is friends with Gilly, Nicola (gillys other half), Rob Grey etc...seemed a great bloke and played a fab set...I find it really interesting reading about these folk..maybe a thread that would embarrass him I'm sure..thank you..Rob

We used to have a thread about different people on the scene. I can't remember what it was called.

The show that featured Stuart Raith a few weeks ago was stunning, 1965? to 1973 and a social history of soul and the US, great listening.  Dave Raistrick and Arthur Fenn, great stories.  Every show as Rob says has something different to offer.

I listen to the Dave Raistrick one later. Dave was the first ever DJ I heard play when I was really young - him being from Skegness and me being (at the time) from Mablethorpe. First time I ever went to Wigan was with Dave in his car. Long drive!

Was that the thread suggested and started by Len where he asked for recommendations as to who people would like to hear about, think it covered three people one if my memory serves me right was Nev Wheerey another I think was Ted Massey, it  died a death for some reason , some great stories came out, maybe Len will read this thread consider re starting it.

Yes that's the one. I think there were a few misunderstandings regarding one of the individuals and as a consequence Len closed it.

Yeah that was it Peter. It got a little personal but probably not meant then Len closed it, probably right. They were fab reading as I love the stories. Chat to gilly sometimes having a ciggy and listening to him is better than you have ever learnt at school!!! It's a Detroit education...kind regards...Rob

Great post Chalky. What a fantastic legacy Richard has given us. 1979 was when I really started - although Wigan 1981 and Clifton Hall, and Cleethorpes Winter Gardens under Steve Crofts stewardship were my best years. Yate was tainted due to the massive coach drive back - sick as a dog and bouts of paranoid schizophrenia. 🤢
