Producer Bob Holmes’ song ‘You Must Leave Her Because You Love Her’ by the Paramount Four is a top-quality group soul ballad. On the flip is another beautiful slowie, this time from San Franciscan chanteuse Jeanette Jones. Co-written by Gerry Goffin, ‘What Have You Got To Gain By Losing Me’ is among his finest songs.

DEEP SOUL 06 Rel: 28 Jul 17
It is fitting to have Eddie & Ernie on both sides of a Deep Soul single as they were original label-founder Dave Godin’s ultimate deep soul act. Both tracks were recorded in the late 60s but first came out on our Eddie & Ernie CD in 2002. It is a tribute to their excellent quality that we release them on this vinyl series now.
