Demures - Raining teardrops – Brunswick 55284 Ex+ £800 HOLD

(Across all labels this is one of the hardest black stockers to find. If am not mistaken this is a one-off girl group soul outing enriched by the unmistakable spine tingling vocal and it's heavenly backing. Light wear on label, a couple of light ticks on intro)

Venturas – Heart of love – Green Light 832 Ex £700 SOLD

(Finger snapping horn laden intro, rich lead vocals coupled with sublime harmonies, this guy’s got more in the locker. Outstanding Chicago dancer on a very hard to find 45 that’s remained rare. Visually shows minimal ring wear, a very small light scuff and minor sleeve lines hence the conservative Ex grading, DNAP, plays beautifully at M-)

Lonnie Russ – Say girl – Kerwood 711 WD M £1250 HOLD

(I haven’t seen one for sale in 4-5 years, maybe longer, but then I don’t visit many record bars! Released in 65 this fabulous archetypical LA dancer, with its feel good yet urgent vocal and subtle sax break strikes me as a rarity that hasn’t quite shown up enough to raise its profile and value to the level of other oldies caught up in the current fervour of pre-Brexit spending! I cannot for the life of me find a reason to grade this anything less than mint - absolutely top-class condition)

Brenda Jones – Big mistake – Mercury 73482 M- £750 SOLD

(Superb slab of femme crossover that glides along on outstanding lyrics. made harder to find due to the equally collectable funk flip "super stroke”. Awesome, in-demand dance floor filler and dog rare on a red stock label. I’ve seen lesser condition demos going for 700, a relative giveaway based on ratio of demos to stock)

Garland Green – Ain’t that good enough – Revue 11030 M- £175 SOLD

(Last, but not least this supremely crafted slab of soul, gilded by Garland’s raspy vocal, is yet another compelling outing for this soul giant. Drill hole, otherwise stunning copy)
