Guest son of stan Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Given his stature and impact on music, JB is a very marginal figure in world of the UK rare soul scene. But he was extremely prolific and I have always had a soft spot for the more soulful excursions to be found on his LPs, productions, etc.. So I thought I would start a thread to gather some of them together. A few to kick off with: Any more..? :-)
Alan T Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 (edited) I like most of his stuff, funky, deep or instrumentals, a soul music icon. One of my favorites - This is the full album mix but you can get a 45 with Part 1 and part 2 on the flip. Part 1 of the single has a shorter intro (link under this video) 45 part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDWNC7ALwIo Edited June 30, 2017 by alan t 1

Kev Cane Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Real glad someone thought to do this, same as Tomo and Dave, I love the guy, defo "The hardest working man in show business" thanks Tomo for putting me onto this and many more, could go on about his lack of exposure on the British rare soul scene but it will turn into a rant, I think you know the problem being in that word RARE, enough said, lets enjoy the man Kev 1
Modularman Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Can't seem to find a YouTube clip but: "Why did you take your love from me" off the "I can't stand myself" LP is a firm fave of mine
