Godzilla Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 the stateside issue is a different recording I think. Live I think and not as good Isn't the HMV / ABC recording taken from a live album Mik? I'm sure it sounded like a club recording with an organ trio backing or something like. Godz

The HMV / ABC / Sparton issue is a different studio recording of the track with the same band (the Bobby Bryant quintet) and doesn't appear on an LP. I'm sure it's the ABC / HMV one that you want. Mal C Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 USA version is not live, and its the best version of this by anybody I recon... never heard the LP versions but assume the live one would not have the punch of the studio recording, sticking with my yank Issue I recon.. Mal.C.
Ontherun64 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Hi, Great record! In demand in Spain... The number of the ABC issue is 10841. Not an expensive record. I paid for my copy about $ 20 a year ago... Hipe that helps Best Borja
Guest Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Been after one of these meself...one of the sexiest records I ever heard. That album version doesnt work as well at all.
Mal C Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Your in for a suprise cause the flip is as good.. Mal. Been after one of these meself...one of the sexiest records I ever heard. That album version doesnt work as well at all.
Guest Darks Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Your in for a suprise cause the flip is as good.. Mal. Oh Yes, been after this one for a few years without trying to hard (obviously). My DJ partner David Hulston used to drop "Solitary Woman" at our new release/rare groove night back in the 90s. Strange choice, given the nature of this awesome moody and mean 60s left fielder, but always worked for me. So if anyones got a spare, let me know. It does'nt seem easy to obtain. Regards Alan
