City People - I'm Here For Good - Detroit Now £68 SOLD

Nice copy - GREAT Detroit!!! This background information taken from Youtube - Roger Tallman was the creative director of The City People. He recorded and composed this record for Packer Pontiac company who was America’s largest Pontiac dealer, located in Detroit, Michigan. around 1972. The campaign line "I'm here for good" was used as a stand up for Detroit solidarity campaign. It was done to show that Packer was behind the support for a City in need of businesses to stay around instead of the flight that was prevalent at the time. Roger thinks only a thousand records were made. The City People was a made up name. The musicians and singers were all Union session players from Detroit & Los Angeles. BE WARNED - The vocalist changes after the break (For the better!!!) SO worth listening all the way through!!
