Soulfulsolutions Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) Some newly listed and a couple re-aired; Sound files will be loaded ASP; PM to ask any questions or reserve. Jimmy Raye – You must be losing your mind / For the sake of love – Garrison 3008 WD M- £150 (Originally released on the tiny JRE label, I can only assume “Garrison” was used to increase local sales potential rather than achieve a national release. 2 sublime crossover dancers on this gorgeous white demo, can’t pick one over the over, but “sake of love” has a little more oomph about it) Jimmy Raye - For the sake of love.mp3 Geater Davis – My love is so strong for you – House of Orange 2402 M- £40 (Uncannily similar vocals and arrangement to E. Rodney Jones up the list, just a gear down but equally superb moody and understated Memphis dancer) Geater Davis - My love is so strong for you.mp3 Jimmy McFarland – Lonely lover – RPR 108 M- £350 (An unpredictable coming together of component parts provides us with an awesome motor town inspired Northern Soul classic. An established West coast label, the unrivalled writing skills of Holland, Dozier, Holland and the brilliant but unknown McFarland on what appears to be his only outing. Light label discolouration as if it’s rubbed up against something red, plays lovely) Jimmy McFarland - Lonely lover.mp3 Kitty Love – It’s love I need – Ru-Jac 0018 Ex £400 ON HOLD (Rufus Mitchell’s vast Baltimore label was propped up by the likes of Winfield Parker, Gene & Eddie and Fred Martin’s Review, but filled in with some seriously hard to find releases, the Caressors, Sir Joe and the obscure Mask Man & the Cap-Tans, so why not after such a long-standing existence wouldn’t a label like this still throw up relatively unknown tracks to be championed. Just like the Rita Doryse 45 I offered a few months back this release is even harder to come by, with its pulsing horn section and hammond organ break guiding a raw but infectious femme R&B flavoured dancer along, WOW, if you’re an aspiring DJ looking to break something new here’s your chance. 2 tiny circular solvent like stains above the label name, minor marks on vinyl, but nothing to impact on a mint minus play - this is RARE) Kitty Love - It's love I need.mp3 E. Rodney Jones – Peace of mind – Tuff 421 Ex £175 ON HOLD (Chugs along on classy deep vocals, catchy lyrics, in track drum rolls and that classic sax break, which all comprise parts of this superbly constructed industrial soul. Half decent bluesy flip from Jones who incidentally DJ’d at WXOK in Baton Rouge. Minor marks on vinyl, plays mint minus, and light ring wear on label, Bob penned on flip label) E. Rodney Jones - Peace of mind.mp3 Debora Healey – Don't do nothing I wouldn't do – Wheelsville 104 Ex £125 (Very hard number on the label, rarely seen for sale, refreshing early femme Detroit, digits on label) Dont do nothing I wouldnt do.wav PayPal as friends or add 4% please Postage: £1.25 – 1st Class Regular £2.50 - 1st Class Signed For £7.50 - Special Delivery (My preferred option, fully insured for 45’s over £50 unless you take responsibility?) Overseas on Request Cheers, Lee Edited April 11, 2017 by SoulfulSolutions
