Chris Anderton Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 Well, I may counter with my own home-made lamb curry! So easy to make, just throw it all in and it "tastes as good as any Indian restaurant"....my wife's words not mine! Only change I make it to put ginger in with the garlic! https://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/5777/indian-lamb-or-beef-keema.aspx?o_is=Hub_TopRecipe_4 Chris 2

Oldsoulman Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The Gene Townsel was on the LP first , the single came a few years later. James Brown got a release on a single , I think in Venezuela, it was played at the H & G recently
Codfromderby Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 awesome stuff ! the cate bros, had that lp for about 20 years and never played that track, great stuff please post more 1
Pga1 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Hiya, Chris always had a good ear for tunes and can play them in the right order. Though curry and soul ain't my bag. Soul, beer and more soul is. My only gripe with Chris is that on one of his earlier trips to the states he mentioned a new series called ' family guy' and I've been addicted ever since and if I remember correctly ' spicey food was not on his menu. Twisted wheel oldie was more apt ' can't sit down'. Cheers 1
Pga1 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Hiya, And yes I do love curry but has to be home made these days as Indian/ Bangladesh restaurants have gone far too mild. I actually grew some micro scotch bonnets to put in mine, guaranteed to make anyone dance without music, my arse twitched as I wrote that last bit, scaredy arse!!!!!, cheers
Pga1 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Hiya, not too sure about cate bros, not really real soul but then again ' battered ships' odyssey, doobie bros long train and then mike McDonald ' god knows' another thread on here. Soul used to be so different when I was a sprog. Maybe this should be a separate issue but some of my favourite tunes ( not all by a long way) are by artists who jumped on the sounds of the time- Charlie rich- don't tear me down hi recordings. Billy shields- I was a boy, johnny maestro - stepping out of the picture, billy storm on hbr etc etc etc. somewhere someone said ooh that sounds a bit like X record and someone else said ' do you know that X record sounds a bit like this record and then somebody else said I'm gonna play this record by ' graham Bonney - super girl,' because it sounded a bit like the X X record and then............ As someone said ' if the shit fits, wear it. Oh by the way ( no I didn't bring my guitar) I've been listening to Otis and Levi all night. Keep the fat, cheers
Pga1 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Hiya, keep forgetting ' smiley face' etc etc But as I've said before, never read a book/ article with ' hey it's only a joke/ this is serious, at the end. Cheers
Jaco Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Just listening, Chris. Great stuff and perfectly book-ended with the wonderful Randy Brown and Art Gentry tracks. 1
