Winsford Soul Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Sean To you Sir, some great tunes that have been largely forgotten from a time when this scene we love was truly back underground. Steve 1
Guest son of stan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 This used to rule the world. Bet it never gets played any more...
Guest son of stan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Not heard of this since the 80s. I think Danny Everard had it...
Guest son of stan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 'Last one from me before I hand you over to Guy Hennigan..' Love this. Keb Darge used to play it, covered up as Thaddeous Crawford 'The Workout' ;-D
Guest son of stan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 ...I seem to remember this one too..
Guest son of stan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Massive for about 6 weeks. Sorry for the thread hijack...

Certainly the only djs around at that time who would play something like this. I believe one or two copies turned up in a box of records sent from the US and then no one could trace who had made it. I don't think the ones that emerged in the 90s are bootlegs.

Chalky Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Great few hours listening although many of the second are still pretty popular today. Volume three Sean? 1
Sean Hampsey Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 3 and 4 coming up mate. Yes Chalks, you're right. Only Vol 1 are almost totally forgotten. The others are more of a retrospective with many that have endured to this day! Sean 1

Douglaschip Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Think I remember Sam playing Cate Brothers - Where can we go - covered up as Anderson Bros early 80's at Cleethorpes Winter Gardens - remember buying a copy still covered up from Rob Smith. Adam 1
Geoff Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Thanks for compiling these and posting them on Mixcloud. Plenty I'd never heard before, and good dance material. I look forward to the next one. 1

Chipped the run in groove - playable if you miss the first few seconds but would be almost uncueable in a dark room. They were a white folky group weren't they? Doh! Peter 1
21 Again Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 This was my golden era great tunes , had a few of these on the turntable on Saturday night. Donn Thomas How Can I Help and The Escorts Happy Song were big faves of mine. Keep the memories coming. Cheers Pete. 1
Peter99 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Some big hitters in those two lists Sean. Too many of my favourite records to pick out any top picks but one of them would be Tony Fox Love Let Love And Be Loved. Clifton Hall and Cleethorpes anthems most of them. Peter 1
Peter99 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I'll add this banger of a dance record. Motherfox - I'm Fallen into Love. 1

Fabulous records and 2 volumes to play whilst filing 45s and cleaning the house on Thursday! Fair few gone on the infinite wants list too. 1
