Paul R Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I remember at school, a lad who was into Hendrix, The Who, etc talking about a set of rock albums that had come out and he told me one of them was "feckin' soul sh*te". The series went like this:- Backtrack 1-Who, Hendrix, Arthur Brown, Marsha Hunt. Backtrack 2-Who, Thunderclap Newman, Fairport Convention Backtrack 3-Who, Hendrix Backtrack 4-Who, Hendrix Backtrack 5-Who, Hendrix Backtrack 6-Sandpebbles, Parliaments, Precisions,Debonaires, Al Kent Then it was back to the normal Who/Hendrix stuff. I've just dug my copy out for the first time in years, the track listing is as follows:- Love Power-Sandpebbles I Can Feel The Ice Melting-Parliaments Headache In My Heart-Denonaires Because Of Love-Sandpebbles Let Hurt Put You In The Loosing Seat-Parliaments I'm In Love Again-Debonaires You've Gotta pay The Price-Al Kent (I Wanna)Testify-Parliaments You'll Soon be Gone-Precisions Don't Be Sore At Me-Parliaments Where Do I Go From Here-Al Kent The question is were many people aware of this issue. I know that many of the tracks did come out on UK Track, and this was reissued as Liquorice Allsorts a couple of years later. Is this sort of thing worth anything? Paul

Guest Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 It never ocurred to me that the 'Licorice Allsorts' one was a reissue! It's where I first heard 'Don't Be Sore At Me' and I that was one of the tracks that got me hooked. I love the brallie on the back cover of Licorice Allsorts.
Pete S Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 All of the Backtracks are common I'm afraid. Like Ken said - £15...there's one brilliant volumes featuring Andy Ellison - Been A Long Time, well worth picking up.
