Fantastic picture's Philippe. Thank you for posting them.

Steve

You're welcome Steve, but my "pictures" are just some amateur testimony. Nothing compared to yours that should deserve to be published, as someone previously said. Seriously, aren't you interested in publishing them, or offering/selling them to some specialists mags ?

Philippe. Your making me blush but thank you.

I have just offered one of the Puffin pictures to a friend for the walls of his cottage and he insisted that I take some money off him. Also the RSPB and a holiday company have published a few for which I wasn't paid but that wasn't anything. I actually offered.

I've just had some photographs printed off at  15" x 10" on high gloss paper and even if I say so myself they look ok.

Finally got a half decent photograph of such a colourful , pretty little bird

As my posh mate at works says "Bloody Hell" - only works with a public school boy accent!

Nice one Steve. You're getting to the point where you should start advertising for photography work. Might be a nice little side line that contributes to keeping your kit up to date and helps pay for the annual jaunt to Pembroke.

All the best mate.

Thanks Peter. It's your turn to make me blush. In my opinion my technique is way short of what's required. I do have fieldcraft and a understanding of Nature which helps. But photography wise I'm just a novice.

Hope you're well my friend  :hatsoff2:

On that Sir, I beg to differ. From a punters/I know what I like perspective, I'm absolutely sold. I have seen your craft evolve and improve over the last few years and as a consequence we've all been treated to some fantastic personal experiences, captured for ever, by your skill.

As effective as my daily 40mg of Citalopram!

Keep on keeping on Steve.

Pete

Ps - my brother is going back to Aberdunant near Porthmadog (North Wales)  tomorrow - I'm not able to go this year but Betsy his new rescue dog will have a first Welsh holiday.

Nice picture's Andy.  Adder definitely on my must see list. Seen a grass snake. Not even got wild Scottish Wildcats on my list.  To rare . Seen them in captivity though. Bet you where amazed to see it and so chuffed.

Steve

Yes Steve, the wild cats are very rare and ardamurchan is a last strong hold. Just wished I'd got a video or clearer photo. The adder was just lying on the path in the afternoon sun, may of just had a meal as it took it's time to move on.

Not been on here for a bit. Was up in the Ardamurchan Peninsula of Scotland in May, Kilchoan to be exact,  what a fantastic place that is as well, highly recommended if you like peace and quiet and wildlife. The first is two seals just of the shore, the second is what I was hoping is a true Scottish wild cat but it's not a conclusive photo as it was dusk and zoomed in a bit. It was on the drive way of the cottage we were staying at and even the wild cat society can't say 100% if it's a true one or a hybrid. We know what we saw though ;-) The third is a first for me and is an adder basking on the path we were walking on :-)

Hi, unusual for an Adder to be this far away from cover. This is a female specimen and looks gravid rather than having recently eaten. Females can be identified by the large size, males are tiny and also have very bold markings in comparison, also males have a longer tail. In this photo the snakes arse is about a scale inch to the left from the rock it's snuggling to at the left of the body. The tail of a male would be approximately double the length. Adders are ovo-viviparous ie: the eggs are incubated within the body and emerge as a miniature version of the adult. The incubation is reliant on the body temperature, hence female Adders being very visable as they bask in the sun, basically they are incubating the young. Here's one of my Adder videos, quite a few like this on my YT channel. Cheers, nice pic.

That's brilliant. I knew they had little ones instead of eggs but knew nothing else. Excellent stuff, cheers

Chiffchaff Fledgling.

In a few months time this tiny bird will make a massive migration to West Africa or the Eastern Med. Completely unaided by its parents. It never ceases to amaze me how they know the way.

Nature at it's most amazing Steve. A tiny, ,beautiful, delicate little life but capable of wondrous feats. Very inspiring and humbling.

Great pic again mate.

Trying to identify this raptor if you can help. Again, like the wild cat photo, not the greatest as it was a fair distance away and at first I thought it was an eagle but soon dismissed that. Looks like a buzzard, but is it a common one ? looking at my bird book the markings point to a rough legged one but one of the more expert birders may put me right :-) Taken in Ardamurchan, Scotland

Cheers

Looks like a common Buzzard to me too Steve, and I've seen both of the others, it's beak is too small for an eagle, by nature buzzards are slack-mettled, they'd sooner eat carrion than hunt most of the time.

Cheers Steve, that's what I thought but the markings can throw you a bit. Quite a few in the area then an eagle comes along and the buzzards shrink in size :)

Did you all know that modern day, all weather, lifeboats are powered by Rolls Royce engines? They are quality boats built to a very high standard, with all the latest kit.

Well I donned the suit again over the weekend for another Wedding job with the Chevy and in attendance was a beautiful 1965 V.W. Camper van, the wedding was in Milton Abbas here in Dorset, first time for me visiting Milton Abbey Private School alongside the old Abbey which is situated on the right of these pictures, it really is a magnificent Monument and I cannot believe until today I had never been here. :g:  :hatsoff2:

Yes, your so right Steve, this place is less than thirty miles from where I live, it's astounding I had not copped a wedding booking before there when I think of how many I have done in the last twenty years. :)
