Seem to remember it went down quite well at the last Soul Essence weekender!

I posted it as a subject rather than a particular record. Here's another one going under the heading 'Basement Soul' have we got a new genre to go alongside Crossover, Beat Ballad, Stepper,60s Soul etc.etc.

I for one like that particular record (althought the b side:ohmy:) The style I think is folky and bluesy and reminds me of Penny and The Quarters are there more like this out there.

ps Didn't realise Flash McKinney was that rare a record.

Heard this term being used for a couple of years now, Frank Hutson , little Janice got to be a prime examples of this lo-fi stripped down genre.
