Woodbutcher Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 There's some great stuff on this present list , I'm wondering where the "Hamilton Movement" will top out ... ?

Parkypine Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Seem to remember it went down quite well at the last Soul Essence weekender!
Garswood Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Part one, I've heard before and quite like it but jeez the flip side sounds like my 5 year old granddaughter playing her recorder, .... Badly
Steve S 60 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Basement Soul? Currently just under £150, so not Bargain Basement Soul then.
Sjclement Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182403312889?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I posted it as a subject rather than a particular record. Here's another one going under the heading 'Basement Soul' have we got a new genre to go alongside Crossover, Beat Ballad, Stepper,60s Soul etc.etc. I for one like that particular record (althought the b side) The style I think is folky and bluesy and reminds me of Penny and The Quarters are there more like this out there. ps Didn't realise Flash McKinney was that rare a record.
Guest Polyvelts Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Heard this term being used for a couple of years now, Frank Hutson , little Janice got to be a prime examples of this lo-fi stripped down genre. love Eunice btw !! Edited December 30, 2016 by Polyvelts
Ladymidnight Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Darling Dears strikes me as a perfect example.
