It is with great sadness that I have to say that Paul Thrower has passed away. I have just spoken with Clare and she is surrounded with love and support from the family. At this time if we can all keep phone calls to a minimum, although she would love to speak to everyone in time. So for the time being please leave messages here so she can read them.
Paul has been one of the UK's touch stones for quality soul music for so many years. A gentleman of the first order and he will be miss greatly by so many of us. His legacy with be the joy that he brought to us all just being in his company, Lov You Mate

The rogue in the brogues, what a fine gentleman in every way, I have tears in my eyes as I read this, what can you say, about such a genuinely lovely bloke, so many memories from the 100 Club, my own promotions, that Paul supported tirelessly, the Chi Soul events, and more recently Seriously Soulful, with Ben Summers and I imagine many more too.  He always, always had a joke and an encouraging word & a nugget of soulful information, he was such a generous person.  Although in recent years we didnt see as much of each other as we may have liked, I classed Paul as a proper friend.

My sincere condolences go out to Clare & family n friends, RIP Paul, you'll be in fine company on the dance floor in the sky my old friend.

2016 has been a right bitch of year, another wonderful person taken far to early.....

So very sad to hear this. Paul was one of the first UK soul guys I met, and I will always remember him as a true gentleman, funny as hell and equally kind. Always a pleasure to meet him in Yarmouth or Bilbao, and later on at our Stockholm event as well.

Last time we met was the Memphis soul trip in May. Even when his bodily health let him down, Paul still had that great, warm aura. What a class act.

Thoughts go to Clare.

Rest in peace Paul.

So very sorry to hear this news. I only met Paul about 5 or 6 years ago and feel lucky to have seen / heard him play some of his records a few times. Such a friendly man, brilliant sense of humour and amazing taste in soul...he put me on to some stunning records I might never have otherwise heard and I'll treasure them even more now. Rest in peace Paul.

Very sad to hear about the passing of a giant in the soul fraternity. Paul was one of the good guys, a rare commodity in the often cut throat collectors mentality involved with certain scenes. A stand up gent that loved to play host, discuss everyday life as well as about the most elusive records. And man, he made the meanest post-gig brekkie too...awesome! I raise my glass, doff my cap...words don't really cut it. Rest easy, mate....my heart goes out to Clare and the Thrower family....here's Paul at his beloved Seriously Soulful night in 2014, doing what he did best....blowing our minds with some stellar music delivered with panache, personality and most definitely with style! xx

I really can't express the sadness and sense of loss I felt when i heard this dreadful news. our  thoughts go out to Claire (Anything, any time you know where we are, we will be there for you lickety split, as far as we are concerned you were both part of our family and still are) and the girls obviously. To say this has been bad year is an understatement. Paul Thrower one of the nicest most genuine and funniest men i have ever met Love You Mate may you rest in peace.

I am so sorry to read this awful news. I knew Paul through the MonuMental Soul nights in London initially. He was a man of superb musical taste but more importantly a thoroughly nice decent guy. My condolences to Clare and the family.

RIP Paul

We're still struggling in our house with the news. Paul was truly one of life's greats and his passing will leave a big void in not just mine, but many many other peoples lives too. Thinking of Clare and the girls at this time. Sleep well my friend. I'll miss you Mr T :(
