Guest cC B Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Just curious - does the sound files on the Lifeline site work for everybody? Apparantly one SoulSource-member couldn't get the real audio files to work.. Any feedback would be appreciated. If you haven't already checked out the sound section, make sure to do so. Some fantastic & upfront soul stuff from Dyson & Co Christian B

Some fantastic & upfront soul stuff from Dyson & Co Christian B Oliver Norman - worked fine (great tune by the way) Ollie Jackson - worked fine (not heard this for 'a little while' actually - god i'm so funny). Mar-go and the Soul Trio - worked fine. Bill Sampson - worked fine. (another cracker) Mary Hunt - No probs. Willie Walker - no probs. Sugar Lumps - Works fine. Ernest Sparks - no probs. Eddie Parker - lovely tune plays fine. The Intrepids - plays fine. the Notations - no probs. Promatics - Plays no probs. Tenderonies - plays fine. Thomas Clock - it's about time someone put this online (groan). plays fine. Tiny Watkins - big tune this - plays fine. (i need a new jokes writer). Carolyn Champion - Plays like a winner. Sean Taylor - Plays fine. Marion Javius - plays fine. In short, they all worked 100% for me.
Guest cC B Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Thanks for the feedback! The Lifeline SC crew will provide new soundfiles on a regular basis, so keep checking it out. Perhaps we'll even get a DJ-profile section on the site soon ...and even some updated playlists.. Best, Christian B

Some fantastic & upfront soul stuff from Dyson & Co Christian B If using AOL (like I do) only three or four of the files play. AOL has its own Real Audio player (which it uses as default) and I suspect that's the problem for other users. I'll try to take a look later (when I get in from work) and see if there's a reason why some files play through this and others don't. Nice site though and great to see some 'other' tunes being highlighted
Guest cC B Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the feedback! I've used two different real audio converters, so I suspect that they produce slightly different real audio files, i.e. .rm and .rmvd. Will look into it myself tonight. BUT, if you use the real audio player which there is a link to on the site, it should be no problem playing 'em all. At least not here. Which one's are not working for you? I've no sound at work so I can't check until later on. Looking at the files though they all have .ram extensions and some play and some don't (through AOL's real audio default player). I didn'r try them all, but from memory these are the ones that didn't play: Oliver Norman Ollie Jackson Mar-Go Bill Sampson Mary Hunt Willie Walker Thomas Clock Those that played were: Notations Intrepids Tiny Watkins Tenderonies AOL users can probably download Real Player and set as default, but not sure if AOL itself overides this.
Guest cC B Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) Thanks! That explains it. Those who did play for you have .rm extensions and those who don't have .rmvb. Both are valid Real Audio formats though and normal players should play both fine. But I'll fix 'em all anyway, so they'll work on all players Best, Christian B Edited October 25, 2006 by cC B

Guest cC B Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Cheers mate - look forward to hearing the other clips later They should all work on Real Audio players now. Let me know if you still experience any problems, ok. Best, CB
