Still a pretty unknown beat ballad. A track which really could go.

 

Gwen McCrae – Lead Me On (Ex) SOLD

A truly wonderful song. Moody and magnificent.

 

Robin Rice – I’ve Had it (Ex) £50

Fantastic early 60’s mid-tempo cut. If you don’t know it, I’d definitely advise checking it out on you-tube.

 

Patti Austin – Music To My Heart (Ex) SOLD

Such a powerful cut, and a 45 which seems to be vanishing now.

 

The Fabulettes – Screaming and Shoutin (Ex) SOLD

A Southern Soul track which was new to me. But what a belter. Always packs the floor when I’m Djing and gets people asking what it is. Rare DJ copy

 

Little Royal – You Know (You Made Me Love You) (Ex) £40

One of the harder to find releases on the New Jersey Carnival label.

 

Leone Thomas – Thank You Baby (Ex) £30

Released on Don King’s short-lived record label. A classy slice of funk soul

 

Chuck Jackson – Hand It Over (VG++) SOLD

Why this isn’t more expensive is beyond me. Such a big voice and big production from Ludix.

 

Sam & Bill – I’ll Try (VG) £15

Great brassy dancefloor Northern. Used but playable copy

 

L.C Cooke –Do You Wanna Dance (Ex) HELD

Great Northern on the obscure Destination label. Has went for double.

 

The Sapphires – Gotta Have Your Love (VG) £15

Beautiful mid-tempo Northern. Some hiss at the start plays ok.

 

Justin Washington – I Can’t Wait Until I See My Baby (Ex) SOLD

As sampled by Saint Etienne. An evocative mid-tempo cut from this legendary Soul artist.

 

The Ad-Libs – Nothing Worse Than Being Alone (VG w.o.l) SOLD

Such a feel good Northern track. Never get tired of it. Used but playable copy.

 

The Miracles – Whole Lotta of Shaking In My Heart (M) SOLD
