Woodbutcher Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) Oh do keep up man ... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/news-soul/ive-got-a-secret-in-our-stash-artist-revealed-r3404/ (PS Please switch your spellchecker back on ... ) Edited November 1, 2016 by WoodButcher
Markw Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 To answer the original question, John Vincent had an original acetate which had no artist name on it, just the song title typed on it. He named it the Just Bros. He sold the acetate on to Butch in the 80s. Butch made it a big part of his sets for many years. A few months ago, Mark Bicknell was working with the Secret Stash team in the States who have the rights to the original tapes from the Learner family who ran the One-Derful, Mar-V-Lus, Midas etc stable of labels in Chicago in the 60s. On the tapes was "Go On And Laugh" identified as actually being recorded by the Sharpees. 1 1
Len Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 I got mine yesterday (Thanks Mark) ((Bicknell not Dobson)) Awesome tune Len 1
Len Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 It was just lovely playing this tune at home, we have great memories of dancing to it at The 100 club - It even got the wife (Nina) having a jig round the kitchen for a mo (Don't tell her I said) Len 1
