Well, the wife and I are going to it in a couple of weeks time. We've never been to a West End show before so I think we'll enjoy it as an occasion anyway...

Saw it in New York and it was packed..................A good show.

As with all stories, with time they get 'fuzzy' so don't take it too literally.

Always t shirts and cd's to buy at the end, but you wont find any rare stuff!

Was looking at it as part of my 50th celebrations buy just tooooo expensive so we are doing Thriller instead!!

Cheers,

Mark R

Went to see it in London  I thought it was good and my wife loved it

If you do it as part of a weekend away in London I think its a great idea

Cheers Eric P.

In London to see Dream Girls in Nov.

Think we'll hear much more soulful singing than if we'd picked the Motown show.

Regards.

Agree with UK SOUL. My wife and I traveled down from the NW, saw the show and finished the night off at the 100 Club till the early hours - both events were great!!

Cheers Dave

Saw it a few weeks ago.......if you don't know the 'Motwon story', it's OK for that little bit of history but I found some of the music lacked that real soulful sound.

me and the wife went to see it a  few weeks back, it was packed like already been said if you know the Motown story then this does not run in historical order of when  the songs where released. I thought the show was great, and the singers were very good a specially when they did the temps the 4tops  and the Jackson 5 these or me stole the show it's a great west end show which has the full endorsement of Berry Gordy himself whom was at the u.k. premier when it opened . Highly recommended:thumbsup:

Saw it in New York in July.  Mrs Dazzler and I both loved it.  Only criticism from me was that some of the chronology of the songs wasn't quite right but the singing, energy and overall staging was excellent.  Well worth going to.

As for the story we soul fans know it anyway.

A bit like the Thriller musical. What's the point

If you ever get the chance to see Amber Riley, take it. Soul singers are soul singers, whether in the past or in the present.

I enjoyed watching the 'new' Contours at Whitby singing the 'old' Contours songs.

MAYBE ITS JUST A LITTLE MISUNDERSTANDING.........

The dream girls is about the terrible way 'singers' were treated by Mr Gordy and others.

There are no Motown songs to be heard in this musical.

A story worth telling imo.

I do agree with much of what you say with reservations.

However, I suppose thinking about it, I can't really talk as I have seen '' All or Nothing''

Indeed Dreamgirls was amazing Ed. Tears in the eyes, hairs on neck stood up and as you say, breath taking!  Three standing ovations during the show we were at!
