Robbk
I have seen the Maycon many times and NEVER seen the Master Sound. I suspect that Master Sound was the original, and only sold in the Philadelphia Metro Area, and Maycon distributed it at least in the Northeast and South. I don't think it ever got to the West or Midwest during its release run.. Link to comment Social source share

Chalky
The Maycon release gets a mention in Billboard magazine 23rd October 1971as one of the picks of the week. Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
the same add goes back to 9th of October and is in billboard throughout October. Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
Master sound definitely first, it gets a mention some 11 years earlier (although states Master 12) in billboard, 24th October 1960 to be precise. KevH
Hi Zanetti, on your Master scan there is a stamp dated 1961 Easter Seals. This date would tie in with what Chalky is saying about the dates. 1971 for Maycon, approx 1961 for Master. Link to comment Social source share
Zanetti
Perfect guys ... mucho mucho Thx. My thoughts were that the Master is the first because of the shortcut of Pennysylvania (Penna.) maybe the old-fashioned abbreviation in contrast to Maycon with the today common one: PA. Chalky
tha stamp is some sort charity stamp for crippled children. October 1960 the first reference I could find for the Master Sound release not 61. Edited October 18, 2016 by chalky Link to comment Social source share
