Hi all

Should know this really I guess but is this Guinness LP just a compilation of earlier Exits tracks ? Played Exits "Gotta Have Money" on YT (thanks Mr Pinches ! ) and it sounded the same as on my newly acquired LP

Cheers Paul

The version of "You Got To Have Money" on the Jimi Conwell LP is the same as the Exits except its about a minute longer from memory. "Another Sundown In Watts" [Exits] on the LP has a much more "spacey" sounding mix,I personally think the 45 sounds superior.

I thought I read somewhere that the Guinness label was used for tax purposes

Either way there is also a bootleg press on Guinness and also another later press on Globe

I've seen the Lp referred to as a bootleg, is this right?

Isn"t it some sort of New York gangsters white washing money scam ?

Do you know how to spot the boot kjw ?

I know it came out of Japan Paul

Has thick, heavy vinyl. Not sure if there are any label differences - I've only had the first release on Guinness and that was a few years back

Sorry Paul, only just seen this. The Guiness reissue is,from what I could see when I had the original and reissue side by side, very, very close to the original. So close in fact, that I have no doubt they will be passed off as the real thing to unsuspecting buyers. Heavy vinyl as the original, Heavy sleeve too also like the original. I think, though Im not certain because I don't have them anymore, that the inside of the sleeve was an identical colour to the original too. Be very careful if you're thinking of splashing out. A lot of the originals floating around seem to have a "cut out" corner of sleeve  sliced off. Hope this may help.

Oh, and the sound quality on both original and reissue Guiness copies were spot on.

Many thanks for that Ivor. I have already "splashed out" 30 euros for a copy at a record fair last w/end blissfully unaware of any bootleg. My copy has some background noise throughout but its surprisingly not too obtrusive. No cut out corner but some ringwear to the sleeve. I guess I'll file it in the "hmmm not sure section " for now :g:

Thanks again

Cheers Paul
