Just looking again Kev. A few I don't know so I'll be checking them out.

But where do you start with the ones I do know?

Quality from start to finish - Watch Tower, Joy Incorporated, James Dee, Masterplan, Mantis, Diplomats, Four Mints, Mike James Kirkland, etc etc. Top drawer soul and such a welcome antidote to the turgid fodder of the top 500 and its ilk.

Hi Mike, many thanks for the kind words, the only way I would get involved in an event was to do this, instead of CD swaps and confining your Soul sessions to your record room because you can't dance to the Soul music you love, it's time it became the Main Event and played out instead of a couple of hours here and there in a backroom on an afternoon at a Weekender.

Awesome collection of Sweet Soul gems Chris, every one a gem, but if I had to pick out any of them as standouts from a standout set it would be a long time fave of mine Devastations-What makes me feel this way, so bloody good and so rare, when you have a chance to be in a room when its played out its an unbelievable experience, also the incredible Mel Production Band-Tears from the rain, awesome and really tough to find.

Great to hear all of this played out amongst like minded Soul fans. Fantastic Chris, great to have you and Andy Etheridge up in the North East.

What a day and what a refreshing and long time coming change.

Musically fantastic throughout!

A lot of the punters were saying that they had never heard of most of the records played and wanted it just that way. What other nights could say that?

I like a lot of others want this sort of night to be the future and hopefully it will be.

Well attended, nice vibe at venue with a great educated crowd. We'll all be back for the next one.

Ps. The food was lush too.

Pps. Was great to her Bernadette Bascom - I don't wanna lose your love !

Well done Kev, Pete & Gaz.

Thanks once again to Kev, Pete, Gaz and Chris for the surprise shock of asking me along at short notice, as Jakob unfortunately couldn't make it and hopefully well soon.

Fred - Love can last forever (Stylart)

Ivy Jo Hunter - Yea, Yea, Yea (Soul Junction)

Eddie Floyd - I'm so glad I met you (Stax)

Carlos Wright with Purple Mundi - Man from the sky (Cat)

2001: Black Essence - When you walk alone with love (JWJ)

Bernadette Bascom - I don't wanna lose your love (Solidarity)

Debbie S - Try my love (Flaming Arrow)

Sam Butler - I can't get over (SRi)

Carol Anderson - We've got enough (Soul O Sonic)

Charlene & The Soul Serenaders - Love changes (Volt)

Dynamite Dyous & The Green Tree Express - You made my living worthwhile pt 1 (Tomahawk)

The Love Experience - Waiting for your love (Cherry Red)

Double O's Demingo's - Colour one tear black pt 1 (Split)

Shirley Wahls - Remember Martin Luther King (Blue Candle)

Veda Brown - Play Brother, Play Sister (Rav)

Oliver Cheatham - Good guys don't make good lovers (Soul Junction)

Means of Persuasion - One Way Street (C&J)

The Ultimates Combo - Why did you leave me (CCSS)

Donald Lee Richardson & The Executives - Bring your love home to me (Soulville)

Blue & Ferris - It's your turn to cry (Wisdom)

The Natural Resources Unpolluted - Don't bite the hand that feeds you (Dore)

The Fabulous Malibus - My love (Unity)

Cast of Magic Band - Don't say no (Space)

The Impressions - Soulful love (Curtom)

Carl Hall - What about you (Columbia)

Rhythm Machine - Put a smile on time (Lulu)

Sonny Craver - I wanna thank you (Stanson)

...Thanks again fellas and sorry that some of these got people up and dancing... I got plenty of stick for that on the night and during the 200 mile drive home. It's all the "DJ" training I've had you see, I can't just play slow records:D

Cheers, Steve.

Many thanks for agreeing to help us out at such short notice, my sentiments also to Jakob for a speedy recovery, to hear Double O Domingoes played out at a venue was priceless Steve, Donald Lee Richardson was another beauty as was Love Experience prior to Double O, and on and on, exactly the kind of stuff we were wanting, got lots of good feedback for Steve and Chris but I knew all about them beforehand so no surprises for me there, both of these genuine guys welcome back anytime:hatsoff2:

Unfortunately I could only make the first 5 hours but what a fantastic and unforgettable experience it was. The venue itself is just perfect for this kind of event and the music played was outstanding as witnessed by the playlists above. (there are still some more to come?) - Well done and thank you to all the DJ's, you all played fantastic sets.

If anyone wants to know what Soul Heaven is, it's "SWEET DEEP & SOULFUL" - roll on the next one! - I'll be very surprised if it is not an immediate sellout.

Hi Guys, it looks like we missed a good day/night.

As it turned out I wasn't well enough to do anything. All being well and good we will try and get up for the next one.

Glad it all went well as you all deserve it to.

This is the 'Dogs B******s'. Superb venue, music (at least 80% I didn't know) people, hosts etc (not forgetting the food & beer) Thoroughly recommended to those who want something different. The only downside for me was the distance I had to travel.(over 200 miles). Many thanks to Steve Scotney for the lift & company (not forgetting John who travelled with us) My first time in the NE & will have to go back for more of a look round (I.e. only managed a quick look around Durham on the Sun morning)

A busy weekend for me as on the Sunday went to Steve Scotney & Brian Gouchers event in Stanwick. They are doing a splendid job along similar lines to Durham so get along to the next one if you can.

This gig was a real pleasure to attend. All the Dj's were top notch, mixing true rarities with very common but fantastic soul 45's. Shed load of passion and no ego's from all who attended. Nice one!
