And loved by a whole bunch of musicians and fans from both Nashville, and on the beach music scene on the east coast. Loads of tributes on various Carolina forums of late (he'd been unwell for some time). Kind of funny that he commented he felt a bit of an outsider to the beach scene in the very early years (apparently Bob Marshall and the Crystal's L-Rev release of Clifford's classic was so popular, that when he came to Virginia they thought he was singing a cover); he is now part of the fabric of the scene's history like Billy Scott etc.

Back in 76 when coming back from St Ives all nighter - I brought four records off this guy, honestly I didn't know what they were but for £5 it was worth the punt, one of them was I cant get a hold of myself - absolute classic, remember, Respect RIP

Very sad news.  I always had a soft spot for this one but I don't think it ever got the plays it deserved:

Very Sad news,Clifford allways wanted to come to the UK,and a couple of years back Chris Waterman was going to bring him to do a show at Radcliffe Allnighter,Clifford was really exited about coming,Unfortunatley Clifford took ill and couldn't come. R.I.P. Clifford.

Probably a good time for Soulful Kinda Music to fix the discography by separating the two Clifford Curry's, not the same dude as the Notations singer.  RIP Clifford Curry.
