Kris Holmes Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Will be taken off of life support tomorrow.
Ady Croasdell Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Really bad news, he was a superb singer.
Windlesoul Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) And loved by a whole bunch of musicians and fans from both Nashville, and on the beach music scene on the east coast. Loads of tributes on various Carolina forums of late (he'd been unwell for some time). Kind of funny that he commented he felt a bit of an outsider to the beach scene in the very early years (apparently Bob Marshall and the Crystal's L-Rev release of Clifford's classic was so popular, that when he came to Virginia they thought he was singing a cover); he is now part of the fabric of the scene's history like Billy Scott etc. Edited September 6, 2016 by Windlesoul
Zoomsoulblue Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Back in 76 when coming back from St Ives all nighter - I brought four records off this guy, honestly I didn't know what they were but for £5 it was worth the punt, one of them was I cant get a hold of myself - absolute classic, remember, Respect RIP
Soultrainer Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 A great artist, and one my all-time favourites ... RIP 1
Dayo Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 (edited) Very sad news. I always had a soft spot for this one but I don't think it ever got the plays it deserved: Edited September 6, 2016 by Dayo
Guest jerrio Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Very Sad news,Clifford allways wanted to come to the UK,and a couple of years back Chris Waterman was going to bring him to do a show at Radcliffe Allnighter,Clifford was really exited about coming,Unfortunatley Clifford took ill and couldn't come. R.I.P. Clifford.
ricticman Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 so sad, a great singer. left behind one of the greatest double sided soul 7's of all time
Gene-r Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 And he composed this gem for The Martells................
Kris Holmes Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Probably a good time for Soulful Kinda Music to fix the discography by separating the two Clifford Curry's, not the same dude as the Notations singer. RIP Clifford Curry. 1
Weingarden Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Yes, Kris. Was about to make a similar content. Strange for there to be two soul singers with this uncommon name. 1
Chris L Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Every death is a tragedy, as a teenager his stuff got played just about everywhere, RIP.
