Dean Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Genuine request: Could some of you more 'in the know' of the deep soul genre post a few of your favorites. I'm looking for less obvious, stuff I may not have come across, but if there's a more obvious stone-dead-favorite that you think is a must listen to then please post that too. Something to make me weep? appreciated, Dean. 1

Another one worth a mention is Joe Valentine I can't stand to see you go which is brilliant despite Joe sounding a wee bit like Phil Silvers on the spoken bit. 1

Roburt Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) I bought this on UK 45 as a new release back in 69 ... it's got a very 'country style backing' (which would normally put me off ... but his vocals ...) .... ..... Joe Odom .... on 1 2 3 in the US, Capitol in the UK (more about him on Sir Shambling) ... he (with the Assembly of Soul) used to be regulars at the Williams Lake Dance Club back in the 60's ...
