I'd hazard a guess that 75% of folk who subscribe to this website have had a go behind the wheels of steel, some in Pubs some in the biggest venues in the World.

What were the three best spots you've ever delivered in your opinion, them all important nights where everything clicks and makes this addiction we all have seem soooo worthwhile..

#3 PETERBOROUGH ALL-NIGHTER 1975

1000 People in and Major Lance live, I goes on before the Major and the place is buzzing, goes off with my records as the band kicks off and while I'm going off stage the Major says, "awesome set young man" :shades:

#2 The Post Office Club PETERBOROUGH ealy 2006.

The whole place was heaving on at 9pm and the crowd were up for it, played anything I wanted, they danced, clapped and stomped for an hour, I'd done my job mor importantly the crowd had done theres.

#1 The biggest buzz Ive ever had... Keele Anniversary

Sandwiched between Brady and Mick Smith I was kacking myself, climed onto the stage at 2am and looked down to haze of heat, "all yours PD" said Pat. ....

"hands together for Mr Brady, standing up here for the first time is like having your first shag, you think you know how to do IT, lets get on with some foreplay, William Powell H&S"..the next hour was a complete blur so engrossed was I at what was happening on the dance floor, a memory I will never trade in.

Yours?????

Adey's second weekender at Gt Yarmouth First spot was in the other room, while one of the acts was on. Started quietly, but gradualy filled up as the music pulled people in. Either the act wasn't grabbing them, but I like to think it was the tunes I was playing! :shades:

First 100 club Standing up there, with that big '100' behind you is special!

First Wilton Ballroom Love playing the Wilton. Always a buzz too, when you get people coming up and asking "What was that!"

Dates are hazy so I won't attempt them

Yate one of at least two "last ever nites"

place totally rammed all night, what a buzz!

Royal Albion Hotel Brighton

one of the maddest 60s soul nights of the early 80s, and I've got it on tape.

Most of the early 6Ts at West Hampstead

DJing doesn't get any better than on those nights, especially if you got a late spot.

Monroes, Harlow, Essex. In association with Shit Hot Promotions Inc. 1987.

Packed to the rafters. Great set (if I do say so myself) Every record danced to. Brilliant atmos. Also the decks had auto-cue - Which is to say the needle would automatically find the start of the track. We weren't reading stuff off a monitor if you get me "right here we go with the next one etc etc".

Some Bird's (name escapes me) 21st. Birchanger early 90's.

Yeah in a marquee in a massive back garden. Lots of civilians, but a good mixed and varied set (all night). Fantastic spread. Paid handsomely and had a romantic liaison with the birthday girl after the event! :D:D:lol:

Feb 2006 100 Club Allnighter - Nothing better.

100club a few times, first go was best, played mikcys east coast jerk for me last record, for M Smith who followed me.

Normington, might have been first on,early anyway, had the floor full all through me set, everybody well happy,Carla Thomas anniversary record doing the biz, nobody had em`then, well not till i turned up with about a dozen of em,and i played Larry Trider aswell, before anybody up north, wouldnt play it now though.

3; Prestatyn Motown weekender,Ady Croasdell used to cart his babys(records) in carrier bags, well he was worst for wear, plonked his carrier bags in me hand, there you go Ken,did about four hours, mostly classic stuff with a couple goodies, dance floor pakced all through,a couple of record people complamenting me,and give me a stakc of records, inc;the nice J Bristol thing, and best of all,i got paid, and paid well too!!,and got to meet the Temps.

Worst Doncaster, the earl of................nobody danced to anything, well maybe a couple of punters, till i put Carla Thomas on,they all came out of the woodwork, sure the room was empty before.
