Pete S Posted October 8, 2006 Author Posted October 8, 2006 Pete, ever considered an appointment to have your ears syringed ? No, but you ought to. What you after for goodness sake, it's an uptempo 60's soul dancer, sorry it's not a 70's disco pop record, I'll try and find some for you.
shute Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Quite nice track that Pete.is it a stax recording ? do you see ''soul of stax'' on the community channel on sky this morning, very interesting.....

Seen Soul Of Stax about 1000 times mate as it's on one of the dvd compilations I used to do! That track is pre-Stax from the Safice label, not sure if it came out as a 45 but it's on the LP featuring Eddie Floyd, Wilson Pickett and The Primettes on UK Windmill. Just thought it was a half decent dancer.
Craig W Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Never really liked much of what Eddie Floyd did but this is excellent Pete. Really like it While your on here Pete do you know much about this record and label as I havent a clue
Guest andycambs Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Never heard it before Pete, quite like it though Andy

But they don't usually look as nice as that one. Pete, ever considered an appointment to have your ears syringed ? Seriously though, I don't care if anyone likes it or doesn't like it, I thought it was pretty good, and would sound good loud. Thats all. Obviously if Ady C had discovered it and it was unissued you'd all love it
Craig W Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Thanks Pete I've only just bought it (blind) and had a feeling it was the hb ben e song.glad you have confirmed it.Ken Lazarus on vocals according to the label. Great label design though. This is the soundclip off Manships site but on the Bra label https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/sounds/exists...ABY_I_LOVE_YOU_

If you hadn't of posted it a lot of people would have been sadder for the loss of this little gem. Keep posting them, mate. Some of us are grateful for these forgotton treasures. Steve B
Sebastian Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Eddie Floyd! Love him. "Things Get Better" is one of my fave Stax cuts. The track you posted, Pete, was as far as I know never issued on a 45. I really like one of his Safice 45s entitled "Baby Bye", punchy 60s dancer. Have a listen.
Sweeney Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 A quality bit of early soul. Thanks for posting it up.
