We're one show away from celebrating our 5th year on air, so we'll be laying the foundations for what should be something special come June time.

For the second hour, I'll be exploring the world of 90's analogue beats one time, as part of the 'Time-Less' series.

Tracks that were forward thinking in production techniques, ground breaking in textures & time signatures but yet often forgotten. With the 2000’s came the advent of more powerful computers, easier accessibility to software & an ease to create at home; beatmakers of the 90’s had to either adapt or fall by the wayside.

We’ll be unearthing some of the cream of the crop, both the classic & the obscure, that still relied on outboard gear, physical mixing desks and insane wired up patch bays to get the job done. With it came a certain warmth, particularly when it was arguably the last bastion of dance music to promote, press and present their music solely onto vinyl….it’s within these grooves that we’d like to celebrate with you a time in beat making.

Here's the 59th installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com, broadcast on 25th May 2016.

For this broadcast, we head to classic DCGS territory featuring a 3 part set joining the dots from soul to funk to deep & spiritual.

Pt. 1 launches into funk territory including a now classic sound from Detroit by the Mighty Walker Brothers...check out new music too from Italy by way of the Jackson Bros. Virginia's Peerless Four offer up a cut from their collectible LP.

Pt. 2 heads to the deep, dark & spiritual side of things, featuring some killer loner cuts from Otis G. Johnson & Ethel Profit. Truly amazing music!

Pt. 3 gets all funked up with 2 cuts from the superb Su-Ann lanel. Baby Sister has been a bubbler in Euro clubland for some time, now featured here. Check out Clara Walker's fire & brimstone answer to JB's 'Say it loud' too.
