Banner Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Time Yuro - It'll Never Be Over For Me, was up for auction on eBay. It was described as a VG copy, though played Mint... Mint with crackles at the beginning? Anyway, I had it on my 'Watch' list & checked on it's progress this morning. It sold yesterday for?.......... £30,000!!! (See this link) Yes, that's what it says, £30,000. Is that right? Does that make it the most expensive 7" of all time? https://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=252364194021&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565 Has the world gone completely mad, or am I missing something? The record itself is great & I appreciate it's getting rarer & rarer, but £30,000? I think the last one I saw, which was a MINT copy, went for about £1,400.... £30,000???... Best of all, there were several people bidding on it. I wish I had a couple of copies spare... :-) If I am missing something & it was a hoax, please let me know.
Okehdownsouth Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Yes it was a hoax of sorts. The record that was for sale was a fake and the seller had been told by loads of people but ignored them. So I placed a £25,000 bid and then asked Pete Smith to send out a warning on his circulation list and loads of people chipped in mental bids until the seller blocked me but then someone else placed a bid of £30k. The seller will not get paid but I hope he gets a huge bill from ebay and maybe it will teach him a lesson!
Banner Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 It certainly had me going...lol I've text & emailed all my mates about it & was asking them (Those not into Northern) if they'd got an old copy lying about in their attic... :-) Thanks for letting me know...
