Guest James Trouble Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 for all those that doubted that the Palladium release ever existed, take a look on e-bay HERE Personally don't think you should be flagging auctions that are running, unless it's your record Chalky, which I doubt. Best to wait till it finishes IMO, bad etiquete.

Guest James Trouble Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 (edited) take it you was hoiping no one else has seen it No, I just think it' s bad etiquete. And it only takes one person who spots it on here and smacks a big bid on it and it send the price through the roof, or 'out of the real world' in Pete Smith's terms Edited October 6, 2006 by James Trouble

No need for the 100 lines, just stand in the corner and think about what a naughty boy you've been... Has anyone noticed that the flip side sounds just like "Brown Girl In The Ring, tra la la la la"? All you have to do is search by 'highest price' and it comes up second in the list. It's there for everyone to see.

Pete S Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 The only person who said I was wrong was you, and no one cares what you think Pete. No, if you remember, everyone thought you were a whining little baby because someone else spotted something you were bidding on and you started crying, and anyway, if you're not bothered about it, why are you on here whinging about the same thing again? What's your real surname anyway, something like Farquhar?
Guest Trevski Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 (edited) And me, and i dont care what anybody thinks Add me to the list Don't see whats wrong with flagging an auction. If someone on here spots it and smacks a big bid on it and sends the price through the roof, or 'out of the real world' in your terms" as JT puts it, then more fool them for having more money than sense Realisticaly tho' any 'big hitters' who could aford this would have ebay staked out, and if not, so what?? Cheers Chalks, I found it interesting, never heard of the paladium release Forget the 100 lines, have a gold star instead Edited October 6, 2006 by Trevski

Modernsoulsucks Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 JT, if someone takes the trouble to sign up to Ebay and get Paypal access how on earth is anyone NOT going to see this 45. Fact that it's $2000+ is going to deter most buyers anyway. Having said that a mate of mine on this site wasn't aware that USA Ebay carried more soul 45s than UK Ebay. He runs his own successful company so not a surprise that he was somewhat slow on the uptake. A nice bloke despite being a capitalist oppressor of the working class. I hope I've not given anything away there but hey Im quite happy for other people to have same opportunities as me. ROD

I do it to wind c**ts up like you when I'm bored at work not a very nice thing to say now, was it?? I know Pete winds folk up, he's done it to me many times, but on this occasion, he happens to be right, IMHO, and that does not lead to the word C**t being bandied about. And here's you talking about etiquete

Cheers Chalks, I found it interesting, never heard of the paladium release Forget the 100 lines, have a gold star instead The interesting thing for me about this auction is the bidder hunkypants66 - new ebayer only for purchases none of which are records then fires in with three wapping bids on this. I'd be a more than a little wary about this being shill bidding.

As this bidder eventually won the item have you thought that they may be the partner of someone whom we all know but didn't want anyone knowing they were bidding on it.further more which is the original release ? palladium or williams 111 ? and rumours at the 100 club that a certain dealer over here has booted said record as anyone seen any for sale ?

Who is the dealer who you intimate has booted this?

Maria O Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) The highest bidder is either a girl, or is a camp gay. Girls can't collect records, so it's very suspect I've seen lots of gals collect, just not seen that many sell. Men can be far less emotionally attached to their vinyl ...imho . We can't be so disposable with something we love It makes more sense that Williams III came first - unless he was somehow able to reissue it after making some money (a dream to have a label?) ..pretty unlikely. A couple of years ago, I tracked down a group performing in texas (I think) who claimed in their promotions to be associated with Lil Major Williams (it implied he was no longer alive). I have the data on my old machine and may get the hard-drive sorted some day to grab the files. Think they were called something like the Majors. Anyway... Tried phoning but the club gave out a number for a girl who said she wasn't in the band. I couldn't be arsed pushing a good thing too far. m ps. you're right about that feedback Edited October 17, 2006 by Maria O
Gasher Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) Contary to belief Mick H informed me at the weekend after he talked to band member that..Palladium was the first release and that Major Williams released it later on his own label unofficially to make some more money on the side He is apparently no longer with us and if you listen to their new version of Girl dont leave me on the Majors website you will see in the Lyrics at the point where on the original its says "the letter read Dear MAJOR Im gone and Im gone for good .Love Kathy" the names have been changed...maybe to protedct the innocent.haha Edited October 17, 2006 by the gasher
