dean jj Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Gosh who knew there was a legit 45?Must be shorter than the album version but can I have one please. dean
Wiggyflat Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) I found a copy of the 45 when it was being played in 88 on the jazz scene. It was nestled in a load of french 45s on the the Port De Clingancourt flea market in Paris.I paid peanuts and later sold it.From memory it is the same cut as the lp with Whip It on me on the b side. This was a big record for Gilles Peterson.I sold it to mod dj Rob Bailey so you might want to try him. purist Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 As this tune seems to be having yet another resurgence I thought it was worth mentioning for those who don't know, that it got a legitimate UK 45 release in 2002 on BGP, a label that runs under the Ace umbrella I think. Don't know if you can still buy it through Ace, but it's on Discogs for a paltry sum, less than £8 + post. Look under the Linda Lyndell "What a man" flipside if you have trouble locating it HTH
