Ok, i know this sounds vague, but i was watching a copy of 'This England' last night, in a semi pished state and there was an uptempo 70's track playing (Female vocalist), the lyrics were along the lines of; 'Gotta have a talk, gotta get him off of my conscience!' Now i know its probably not a rare track or anything, but i haven't heard it before can anybody enlighten me?

As i said, very vague!

I think it's the Lovelites - Get it Off My Conscience, on Lovelite (also Grapevine). Not to be confused with My Conscience by same group, which is pleasant mid-tempo.

Yeah it is the lovelites on lovelite records.

The b-side is better I used to play it out "Oh what a day"

Hi

It came out on Grapevine GRP 107 here in the UK

Just to save any confusion, if you are looking for the U.S.A. copy, this is the Label to look out for.

As already mentioned there is another version called "My Conscience" by "The Lovelites" which is different to the one that you are after.
