Gotsoul Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 One good dancing, foot stompin good time rock n roll songs ever, and Miss Ruth lays down those lyrics just right, you can feel the heartbreak and love.
Cover-up Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Think she recorded two versions of this. One on Atlantic and, err, another less raw sounding take. I'll never make a top collector, head like a sieve...
Robbk Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I bought that record, new, on 78 RPM, for 49¢, in 1954. That was before the vast majority of posters on here were even gleams in their parents' eyes. That was when 49¢ could get you 10 giant chocolate bars, or an early-bird dinner in a sitdown restaurant, or a shave in a barbershop, or 10 telephone calls in a phone booth, or 5 daily newspapers, or 50 hockey cards (along with 10 horrible pink sticks of bland-tasting chewing gum dusted with powdered sugar). 1
