Gotsoul Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 When Harvey Fuqua came to Motown he brought his group The Spinners with him, but as good as they were there didn't seem to be much use for them in the recording studio, although they did get a hit or two-I'll Always Love You-It's A Shame they were very underused so they left for Atlantic Records and struck gold...How Could I Let You Get Away.. I'll Be Around...Rubberband Man...Then Came You...Love Don't Love Nobody...Sadie, and many more, a story of determination and soul.
Mike Lofthouse Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Always thought the artists who joined Motown who had had a career prior to Motown did not fare as well as those moulded by Gordy - and often went on to greater things after leaving ...The Spinners as you say, Gladys Knight and the Isley Brothers for sure and maybe to some extent Jnr Walker 1
