Guest Ste Brazil Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Has anybody got a copy of this for sale? Ste.
soulfulsaint Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Most of those released came to UK when it was played at the Mecca circa '74. Hard to get in the USA. It was released to coincide with Washington DC's 'Summer In the Park's festival. So its lifespan was literally a few months, a bit like releasing a record to celebrate the Notting Hill Carnival, and to be sold on the day. It is probably the first ever -go-go record, live band recording, big percussion marching-band horn section and namechecks for the big funk band's of the era, including Kool and the Gang and DC's own Soul Searchers. It divides opinion but I like it.
Ernie Andrews Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) Absolutely brilliant- one of the top sounds at the Ritz with people blowing their whistles. So its abit rarer than people think Hmmmm! John Manship has one for £25.00 bit pricy but if you want it! Edited October 2, 2006 by Ernie Andrews

Guest Ste Brazil Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 1 mint copy 20-00 includes postage DOH! Have already bought it from Manships, i'm too eager sometimes but i was in credit with them so its not too bad....Somebody else should snap this up, brilliant track! Ste.
Pete S Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 This was massive early 76 which was when all the copies became available. Like Ken, I had one for sale on here recently for a tenner. I'm no 70's fan but when they're uptempo dancers like this I can't knock them.
Simon M Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) What a record , when I first heard this I realized Northern soul dancing wasn't only about moving around strangely from side to side ..Hey man thats Kool and the Gang !! Love it Edited October 2, 2006 by Simon M
